Thanks Jack. It's possible that a Buck stockman is to me as a Sheffield sheepfoot is to you. Both could be considered quintessential cutlery from our respective home lands, that just happen to also be, excellent Old Friends.

kamagong reminded me of the Aitor Castor Pequenya earlier in the week (I think Christian has its slightly bigger brother) It was my first Knife of the Year I think, and a great little knife, which really does punch above its weight It's been long since I carried mine, and I'm looking forward to doing so today

Edge Brand of Solingen. It was pretty new when I took it on Freshman Orientation in 1974. Eight inch blade even after I missed that tree and hit that wall with it.

I'm pretty sure this was the first knife I posted on BF, after drifting over from the axe forum. I can't find the old post and I don't remember if I got the knife bare-linered or if I pried something off.

Thanks, Jack. Spring is possibly my least favorite season. Between the last frost, and before the dry heat of summer, it's insect season. I just had to do some serious flea treatment on the cat. The weather is pleasant, though.

That was a cicada. The trees will be very loud with them soon.

Sorry to hear that Rachel, I have always enjoyed it here, but we don't always get a Spring here now, just goes from Winter to Summer! Hoping to get one this year, as it kinda messes with my wardrobe!
