Old Friends Friday

Beautiful!
I have no idea where or when I got this, which surprises me a little, even knowing me.

Wonderful :)

Carrying this old British Army 8173-1914 pattern from WW1 today, which some folks used to refer to (mistakenly) as the 'Gift Knife'. This one, which I used to carry regularly, and still carry occasionally, was made in Sheffield by Joseph Allen, and was gifted to me by my old friend A ADEE , from Huddersfield, who used to post here sometimes. We used to rummage on Huddersfield Market most Tuesdays, but I've not seen him since COVID, sadly. I do occasionally get a message from him

I read somewhere pre-AI that some of these were made by Camillus and some by Utica. I've always thought mine looks like a Utica. Below is the same knife with a Kutmaster stockman.

That's pretty cool Jer 😎 Thank you for remembering (unlike me!). I have an Alox Pioneer X in my OTHER pocket, but I'm on a crowded train right now, so will have to add a pic later 👍
