Old Friends Friday

That's a fantastic picture, James.

This 108OT was my favorite knife for many years. The clip blade spring, which was never very good, kept getting weaker until finally the blade wouldn't stay completely shut in my pocket. After I stabbed myself on the tip several times while putting my hand in my pocket, I converted the blade into a rather amateurish Wharncliffe, which at least solved the stabbing problem. I finally retired it and haven't carried it in several years, but I put it back in my pocket today for Old Friends Friday.

I've only had this knife a few months and this is the 1st time I've carried it. Although I'm just getting to know this particular knife I feel a connection and know that the knife and I one day will be old friends. It dates to the year I turned 16 and that was a big moment in my life. It also says old grand dad on it's shield and blade etch which I can relate to since I am one now.:DView attachment 1203577View attachment 1203580

Nearing the end of another year. Don't want to forget about old friends.
So gathering up an early 60s Python revolver that had not been exercised in awhile and some fresh ammo we went for a short winter's walk. Accompanying me along with the Colt was a Tidioute Trapper from 2013.
Enjoyed the clear, cold but sunny skies, did a little plinking and got reacquainted... it was good for the heart.

Have a wonderful weekend all.
