A good day to throw this Old Friend in my pocket again.
Spent some time cleaning and oiling it up, and putting a fresh edge on it.
Schrade's medium sized knives spent lots of time in my pockets when I was younger.

Mom bought me the little white Imperial for no reason many years ago. The Case was Dad's, so I've had it around 20 years. He never carried it because it isn't a shadow pen, and I've never carried it because it's a little small.

what is a shadow pen, if I might ask?

A shadow pen is a pen-knife with one-piece handle covers and no bolsters. At least that's what I mean by it.

I went looking for the Boker USA with the roofing nail shield. I bought it for $2.50 at an estate sale a few years ago. I carried it all the time for quite a while. The Olsen must be an older friend, though; I'd forgotten I had an Olsen stockman this size.

Though I almost think I remember having a knife that was caramel-colored on one side and licorice on the other.

I took this pic at the halfway point of today's bike ride. I've posted this knife before, but I don't have a big selection to choose from and it certainly fits the old friend Friday theme. This 34OT is probably the first decent knife I bought back when I was in grade 6 or 7 I think (early to mid 90s). I remember getting home from school and slipping this or a Gerber LST in my pocket. It doesn't get a lot of pocket time now since I usually opt for my Case medium stockman instead, but it's a great knife.
