Old Friends Friday

A Christmas present that I opened early (nobody here to stop me) included the knives that my big sister(and my brother in law) chose from Dad's knife box after he died.
This is one we chipped in to get him for Christmas.

A special knife, in every way, Jer :)

Good morning friends,

have a fantastic Friday!
You too James, that's a real looker :)

Won't actually be carrying this much today but it is an old cutlery friend that I've owned the longest. Having traveled far and wide together it always brings back pleasant and even some exciting memories whenever it gets out of storage.
At 5.5 inches it's too big to lose and being made well of durable materials, it's been a great companion to use and easy to maintain since c1973.

Very cool James :) I picked up this knife in 1979, made by a long-deceased Sheffield cutler, named Stuart Mitchell. I have similar feelings on the rare occassions I carry it these days :)

The one with the clip open is out of Dad's knife box again. The other is older, because it doesn't have the X across the tang stamp that was something to do with the dolorous death and departing of Camillus. They're 881s.

A little better pic perhaps:
perhaps not.

That's a good lookin' knife Jack. It's a good day for fixed blades around here today! :)

I changed it not that long ago, thinking that eight or nine years was long enough to let a typo stand. The price of a name change had doubled since Pertinux told me how to do it way back when.
