A tool used by your father and grandfather is a fantastic piece of family history, the very definition of an heirloom. Great to see living history like that.![]()
My father’s knife, and his father’s before him. Acquired in the 40s or 50s while hiking in the Swedish mountains. Sami pattern, marked “Sylarna”, a mountain on the border between Sweden and Norway.
The schrade swell end jack is spectacular, look at the bone, just wow. Here's the Schrade Cut Co trio... the scout, the swell end jack and the cattle knife

Pretty darn cool if you ask me!I bought a $2 knife on Swedish eBay because I wanted to try restoring it. I chopped down an old plum tree, and made new scales replacing the old cracked ones. (Restoring the knife was not the main reason for chopping it down, I’m not that knife-crazy)
I know it’s not a super fit if you look closely but I’m very happy with the result

Rob a classic Quartet my friend of stunning stag and some of the finest Jig work! I too have a love for Folding Hunters! You have some beauties my friend and I loved seeing these!I have posted these before, individually and in pairs, scattered around various threads. Got them out yesterday for a group shot. I didn't realize the NYK was the longest in open position, the frames of it and the Case coke bottle are the exact same length but the lockback feature allows for a longer blade. Approximately 1/4" longer. The NYK is about 9 15/16".

That's pretty cool!Added a complete Ulery Tool Kit to the collection. An early example of a multi-tool. Pretty nifty how the tools attach opposite to the main blade.
