"Old Knives"

Real nice Empire, John!!👌
Empire was famous for fitting Stag, and for "Blackening" it with Potassium Permanganate, combined with dye!!
I no longer own these Empires, but as you can see, the bottom two have blackened Stag!!

Thank you Lloyd and Charlie, Charlie, beautiful Empires, I really like how the blackened stag shows the high points of the stag. This Challenge has blackened stag also.

Augie and Charlie- Oh man each of those Empires have the ability to stop one in their tracks!! Wow, Yep....I too am a huge fan of blackened Stag- some early English Fixed Blades I used to own had that on quite a regular basis.

Ed- Stunner- that Checkered Horn is just gorgeous - please tell us more about this Knife- as in markings etc.

That's a lovely Knife Ed, it could be a retailers name and not Cutler Firm?, I have a had a look through my books( quickly ) and cant find anything there? Seems to be a very large Knife at least 4 inches closed?

Hi, the only remaining visible markings were on the stump of a blade that I replaced with a button hook that was perhaps (to my best guess) a match to period. Need to find some left hand opening blades...

My googlery is coming up short, you?
Calling Will to the front desk! :)

Ed, Goins lists and Applebe & Company , Sheffield g. 1900-1920

That's the only information they show for it. Beautiful knife!
