Really nice example, and Rare, Rare, Rare!! You've done it again, John!!An old one you don't see every day, Battle Axe Cutlery Co, Philadelphia Pa. Not much known,1897-1937 time frame, really nice bolster stamp and tang stamp.

Definitely an old knife, IMO!! Nice, RachelI'm excited about finding this Jonathan Crookes. Some sources give the dates 1780-1827. Could this really be a 200 year old knife?
There seems to be a mark above the name, but I can't make it out. If it's G (crown) R, that would be one of the King Georges, right?

Could it also be from 1827 forward?
I am not sure if Johnathan Crookes & Son used the “& son” on the Tang Stamp??? Hope Jack or others add, love the mystery’s that come with neat old Knives.
