"Old Knives"

Levine calls them 3 1/8 inches; I am curious if they were slightly different than that, if they were built by millimeters, as they were made in Europe?
When did Europe/Germany adopt the metric system?
I know Brittan used the Whitworth and inch measurements into the 20th century.
(My 1965 Triumph T100C motorcycle had both inch and Whitworth fasteners, as did a friend's Norton 850 Commando.)

Displaying Stan's trademark filework!!!
What a treasure Charlie, man look at the Spring detail! - with all the file work, Coined liners- Ivory they poured it all out on this knife didn't they!

The story and history of those Beads Charlie really is something else- fascinating!

That is an ultra-cool knife. Wow! Here is another one that is not really an old knife @ 1946-1952 from Schrade Walden, but it does have one of those lancet blades.

Cal, that's a real Sweetheart of a knife my friend!

I remember going to the GEC Rendezvous a few years back with Paul, and I bought this wee knife along with me- I always thought it to be a real outstanding knife, well, a great friend who I got to meet in person for the first time- even though we had known each other fro some time, when I showed him this knife he went gaga over it and it was a pleasure to gift him this knife, never have regretted that because he is a real salt of the Earth and one of the good guys!
- like yours above Cal, a swap around in blades and in Peachseed Bone, a beautifully built knife!
