A Balloon whittler
3 5/16" closed, super fit , finish, blade snap and action. Superbly swedged and ground blades, beautiful deep brown bone, and of course those great swollen bolsters. All smooth and rounded,

Here's an interesting 3 5/8" Balloon Pen. I found a cut in the 1937 Schrade Catalog "E" supplement.
It's a pattern 7633 (inked on the back as well!). Schrade called the blade a "Zulu Spear"!
Ran it by Tony B. and he reckons you could call it a modified wharncliffe. Not your usual traditional knife blade.
