I second that on the peach seed! Any Idea what vintage the Scharade hawkbill is?

Saw Vince's EZ Open and thought I'd pop up one of mine...

Can someone post some pics of an "authentic" Winchester 1920. I've seen some pretty good fakes lately and was hoping to have some nice pictures of the real think to use as a comparison. Thanks.

It gets around that I collect Empire knives. A friend in "Little Rhodey" (is it the smallest State in the Union?) put me in touch with a man who had this interesting variation on the Arkansas Hunter. Until an historical name pops up, I think I'll call it the "Rhode Island Fisherman":D!
I hope I look this good at 80-90 years old!

I think someone lightly cleaned it, but the blade is full length as you can see!

These really pale in comparison to that Empire, but here are some that I picked up at the flea markets this week. Top ones are both Schatt & Morgan's. Second pic are all Robeson's. Third pic has a Standard(by Case), a F.C. Co, and a Wade & Butcher. Last pic has a Western States and A Cattaraugus. - Dan

Great patina-ed collection, Rivit! Venerable slice of history there. I have a display case full of knives that have seen some of the world. I love looking at them! Safe queens are a good investment (I hope!), but, to borrow your phrase, pale in comparison to that warm fuzzy wonder I feel when a knife has BEEN somewhere!!

I'de be proud of that lot too, Rivit.
Waynorth, the very corner on the butts of your two knives, is there nickel silver there, or is it bone and brass liner? It's like the whole knife right there.

Not sure what you mean, Navi?? Aside from the fact that they are slanted, the Cap bolsters are a standard installation you see everywhere. The brass liners show at the end.
Is that what you mean??

Yeah, the inside of the handle near the butt looks like the rear bolster doesn't cover the scales fully looking at the side view.

Rivit,I think it is a shadow, you are seeing, look at the first picture
Awesome fella's...

Vince got it. I think reflection from my yellow background onto the nickel, masks out the facet of the bolster. It actually fits nicely.

I see it know. I looked at the knife in another group shot and saw the angle. Now that you have 2 is one finding its way into your back pocket?

thanks folks. there sure are some beauties being shown here. I need to photograph my new (old) remingtons.

Picked this one up at the Blade Show while wandering the aisles with Waynorth without whose expertise I'd not have been comfortable making the purchase.
