"Old Knives"

This pattern was made by more than one company. I could swear that I have seen an Ulster just like that. In my 1899 HSB catalog is one just like it from Non-XLL. And my 1884 HSB catalog has a similar knife (straight handle instead of contoured, spear blade) from Wostenholm, plus another with the HSB brand.
I traded ulster to TB just like that knife.

Here is my older New York Knife sway back (pre Hammer Brand). I really love this old pick bone. Charles

Beautiful. Hell of a knife

Mike I bought that similar relative from you and the cousins share drawer space with another bone swayback I'll post later, but here are a few new pictures

Lol Charles, I thought it was you but my small brain could not be sure. I am glad you have it. Does the two knives has the same measurements?

Mike

Yeah they are the same frame, size is the same only the covers are different. Here is the younger cousin with the Hammer Brand logo and jigged bone.

Mike, rather similar to a Wormbonegroove Schatt Swayback you sold me a couple of years back. It's taken on patina again....:D

Thanks, Will

Yes will I recall that knife, one of my favorites at that time. Good it take some patina as it should be.

Here's a couple that I put in the boys knives thread but they belong here too.
I-XL Wostenholm and a United Cutlery Works, Germany BOYS FAVORITE. Both have half stops and excellent snap on all blades.
Boys will be boys! Both are from the early part of the 20th century.

Well today in the mail, I received a gift from New Zealand of all places. My buddy Duncan sent me a pretty cool castration knife, Western made.
I love it Duncan, even though we don't have any plans for using it round here, you never know when my wife may have other ideas. Thank you my good friend, for thinking of me!:eagerness: PS we enjoyed the chocs as well!

Here's an interesting one I found in my late father's stuff (hidden in a box in another box) - never seen this one before:

l2d, that's a neat concept of the "Sailors knife" or "Rope knife" or "Marlin Spike" etc, I cant quite read the maker on the blade but it seems to be electro etched, possibly a 70's knife? - but a pretty cool one!

Hey Perry - why do you think I got it out of my house matey! - now I will give me lefty for that one 1 of 1 you have - but I wont give it to Sue when Im asleep lol.
