i'll get the upgrade and come back, sorry.

Kevin,

Don't know why I had to do it this way, but here's the workaround:

Go to your picture in your image album. Right click on the image and click "properties". Then copy the "address".

Use the address between
and you should be good to go.

Phew... ;)

Blues, thanks! they look good! I will try to get some more on here in the next couple of weeks.

No, that wasn't thunder from a storm brewing. I was just closing this knife, after scanning it! I have developed a pretty tough thumb and nail, but I have to use a knife opener to budge this thing. And the pen blade is a match for the main. I can't say it's a practical EDC, except for maybe the California Governor in his prime. Whoever carried this thing wore size 14 shoes, and ducked his head going through doorways. Sturdy tool though, and well cared for over its 100 year, plus or minus, life!
3 3/4" long, nice ebony scales, great blade grinds. Meet the Empire!

Thanks Charlie, I heard the thunder clap all the way down here.
Thanks for sharing,
Jim

Sir Waynorth, I resemble that remark. I also have Rockwell rated thumbnails. Maybe you ought to send that hard to open knife down here. Sounds very practical to me. It is a dandy!

That's a nice cokebottle jack, you don't see too many of them. Every once in a while you come across a knife that truly has the oft-mentioned bear trap backsprings. The Challenge that I posted in the patina thread is like that.

It's been a while since I posted anything in this thread so here are some recent finds. Top is a lockback stamped Eclipse Cutlery, second is a Lakeside, third is a rarely seen Cattaraugus scout, fourth is a Shur-Snap by Colonial, and last is a NYK.
I can only describe the NYK as an easy open saddlehorn peanut.

Great bunch of interesting knives, Rivit! That Lakeside is a classic; could be NYK-made!?

I wear size fifteens, and do duck through some doorways.

This one isn't that old, at seven years. However, it certainly looks old.

Jim,

This thread is about old knives, not newer knives that may appear to be old. Thanks in advance for helping us stay on course.

Waynorth, from everything I have read the Lakeside is a Challenge made knife. - Dan
I was trying to read the knife, Dan, thanks for setting me straight. I guess I should put on my knife glasses!!
But after reading Goins and LG4, I agree with you! To be honest, it looks a lot like Empire's work:eek:!
Will we ever know? Really know for sure?? They all made knives for each other, according to some.

Mea Culpa.

Ahah, here's one that's somewhat old. I really have no idea. It's a Remington 9501 in carbon steel and green delrin. I think my grandpa gave it to my dad fifteen years ago, but it was probably from his hardware store, and he had stuff lying around there for years.
