"Old Knives"

Charles, that Waterville looks unused... beautiful knife. And the stag on the Majestic is... majestic!

Very nice Schrade Cut Co, Perry. I love those bolsters.

Before the internet, we could have gone a lifetime without seeing 99% of these knives. I really appreciate this thread.

How right you are Al. It is a treasure. Your Simmons is not bad either ;)

Couple of recent Cattle knife acquisitions:

Forged USA - 3 5/8"

EDIT: I did not realize when I posted this that it and I had parted ways. Sorry Mike.

Main is pretty well used but the others are quite full. All function well. This knife was extremely well cared for.

Shapleigh DE - 3 5/8"

It was lightly cleaned but not overly so. Solid knife all the way around. Long pull on a spey blade? New to me.

The Forged USA stamp indicates Camillus for Sears, 1930s (according to Levine's Guide, 4th) for those who might be wondering... I know I was.

The jigged bone on the Shapleigh DE is outstanding and the blades look great... first spey with a long pull I've seen.

Thanks everyone!

Al, you have to leave the folk something to research! :D. Just kidding of course but...I cannot tell you how many times I have had to go to the books since joining this Forum. It is part of the romance! And the learning!

I posted this one in one of the barlow threads too tonight, but I felt like it needed to be seen here as well. Kinda of has covers reminiscent of a few of the knives posted here lately and well, it's old. Enjoy!

Some absolutely lovely knives, Sesp - love that Schrade Walden,

Al that Shapleigh is just an amazing knife-a treasure in every meaning of the word-nice score!

I have a DE similar to that, but it is not worth posting pics of in this thread. It's got a Clip Point main and no long pull on the spey, but the bone was identical at some point. Well the front was anyway. It was holding on by a mere thread, and the rear was gone. It is rescaled in micarta now.

Long story short, I love the bone and spear of yours, thanks for posting it.

Thank you and your welcome!

I posted some of these in a thread about a month ago about Spring but as I had them out again I thought I would put them here as well. Tis the season!
