"Old Knives"

I received this lovely old Sleeveboard from Stephen ('Old & In The Way'). The tangs are stamped with the name of a Liverpool hardware company R.Kelly & Sons, but it was made in Sheffield.

A venerable old beauty, Jack! Coming home again. I love it. I hope to see it out and about ...maybe a castle or old factory.
Its looks to be about 4 inches closed.

Thanks Gev, I think it's a tad shorter than that, but I'll have to check when I get home. You'll certainly be seeing more of this one (I would have been at Richmond Castle on Sunday, but the weather was awful) :)

This is just a wall, but it's an old wall! - http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bolton_Abbey - ;)

here is an old New York Knife Co Walden stamped jack. It has been struck with 2 nail nicks on the master. Very faint etch visible "Ranchero". A little over 3 1/2" long. The bone jigging is still nice and crisp very little pocket wear. Any ideas on the age of this one? pre Hammer Brand

Beautiful bone on the NYKC and that nail nick and long pull all in one master is indeed, very interesting!:thumbup::)

Wonder if this knife might have been an employee's lunch box knife?:)

Just received this in a couple days ago. An old Case XX in dire need of some carry time. It suffered from some bad pitting on the secondaries and springs but had very full blades and unbelievable to me the blades are very tight and I managed to coax some great action out of it again. Cleaned it up good, oiled it, sharpened it and in the pocket it goes. I have always wanted one of these for a user but the nice examples are very expensive and most of the <$100 ones are pretty much wrecks. Nice compromise here I thought.

Thanks Gevonovich, Jamie and Primble. Jamie that XX era stockman is a beauty! Here's a Schrade Cut Co 3 1/4" regular Jack with pre peachseed scales, the pile side jigging is quite interesting.

Great looking waterfall cell on that KK, etch intact also, wow!

Man there are some beautiful knives been shown here - I regret greatly I just don't have the time to spend in here as much as I'd like.
Jack that Keen Kutter is stunning!

Paul that Shrade is Gob- Smaking - a beautiful beautiful knife - when you have a close look at the jigging - Wow!!!

I am very impressed by the knives that come up on this forum and I have learned a lot by seeing the pictures. My thanks to the contributors.
Here is a William Rodgers. I am pleased with it as it was in a horrible state when I got it but horn does seem to be able to come back to life.
