"Old Knives"

Thats what I'm talkin' bout right there duckman ! I'll take one of those over a minty any day

This one isn't old but Rusty Preston tried to capture some of the feel of the old stag stock knives with this one...just wanted to share to illustrate the notion that the lineage isn't lost on all the newer knives.

And then there's those time warp knives; older, but not yet knowing the joys of getting sharpened, patina-ed and pocket worn:(!
But a nice look back in time, nonetheless;)!

I agree Elliott, that is a beauty !

Nice knives all

Check out the bolster treatment on duckmans Dr.'s knife, like a rat tail but different, the rat tail stands proud of the bolster, way cool  Does anyone know what thats called... Old dog, or anyone?

This one belonged to my grandfather. Its made by Finedge/Ostiso.

You best hide that one, Bastid has been known to drive the goatmobile thousands of miles to get one of that gender. The cap was for crushing pills and not have them get into the liners or between them. That is a REAL Drs knife. Thanks for sharing,
Jim

Charlie, you'd better send those babies over here so they can get a proper sharpening. That just ain't right. ;)

Great Preston Elliott!
Way nice Doctor's knife Duckman, and those 4-blade stockmen have led different lives for sure. I like owning used ones, because it doesn't devalue them using them once in a while. The minty ones are a big responsibility.

Would you like me to share your burden Old Friend ? :D

Super nice doc., duckman. Until today I thought I wasn't interested in that pattern.

Well, I'm sitting here typing, and eating salty rice crackers, and realizing I have to wash my hands, my mouse, and the keyboard, so I don't etch my fingerprints into a mint knife!!
Is that how you want to live??? Huh, do ya???:confused:

:D:D:D

Thank goodness Charlie takes this burden upon himself so that we don't have to.

Thanks, Charlie! :p

Yeah, and don't forget I still have quite a few ol' buddies in the RCMP in case you get out of hand. :p

Charlie and duckman,

My heart really goes pitter-patter when I gaze at those old wonderful Case XX Stockman's four blade'rs with the punch blades of yours. One fine pattern Case produced for sure IMO. I was weened on one of those when I first got started on this slipjoint journey. Some of you may have seen this one before in other threads but sharing here is appropriate too. My uncle's old knife. First one he passed on to me.
