"Old Knives"

Hey Augie, I sure don't see anything wrong with those. They all look great to me. And you can't hit all homeruns if you want to hit for the cycle, ya know?

Augie, there is no reason for embarrassment. Every one of those two blade jacks are exceptional! Fantastic wood, bone, and tortoise shell acrylic covers on those jacks.

Jacks Beautiful I*XL Sheepsfoot, Pauls awesome Pruners, man I am still reeling over that golden Honey Bone!!.

Charlies as-per-usual stunning examples of any kind of knife you can get- how this man does this I just dont know, but I suuuuure do appreciate looking at what he has to show us lucky folk - even his Rase Knives are MINT!!!

Glenns lovely wee I*XL - WHAT A BEAUTY, now Glenn that looks to be a later model one- 70's- 80's perhaps? I dont care because man that is a real sweet Knife!

Augie, now folks Good Ol' Augie must have nothing to do - because this man just keeps popping my mind with his finds - Augie...isnt the Hunt so so addictive my friend! I just LOVE it when you post, because its always a good knife to take in.I am kinda partial to thos early Kinfolks, the Bone is always superb- nice knife with the Sheath still in great shape as well!

Whew....thats a LOT of taking in guys!!! Thank you all!

This "Old Knives" thread is, of course, the best corner of the whole internet. I don't come here very often; I guess that is because my jealousy button is so easily injured. I do have a few nice old friends, however, and this one just arrived not long ago, a Cattaraugus English jack @ 4 1/2 inches and absolutely new, with the exception of some very faint surface peppering in a few places.

Just jumping on quick while at work,

John, nice additions as usual my friend. I like them all:cool::thumbup:

tongueriver, what a FANTASTIC CATT!!!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Boy, after some of the knives posted the last couple weeks I'm almost embarrassed to post some new ones that I've picked up in the last week or so, most are quite worn but still are usable knives.

...Then a couple small jacks, Boker with nice bone and a LF&C with tortoise shell celluloid,

...And finally a Schrade Cut Co jack, good tight knife with well worn blades, I might put this one in the EDC rotation,

Augie, please allow me to help you out of an uncomfortable situation. Simply send them my way :eek: ;) :)... I'd be proud to be the caretaker of any or all of them.

I just received this Eye Brand Jim Bowie jumbo stockman (4.3" closed), made in Solingen, from Vince on the exchange. Does anyone know when these were made? I've included pictures of the blade, tang stamp and shield. Thanks in advance for any help.

Forest Cruse of Austin, TX was an importer of German Eye knives. He had the Jim Bowie knives made by C. Schleiper. According to Goins' Encyclopedia, they were made 1972-1975.
