"Old Knives"

Ok thank you
He needs a paid membership to post pics that are not hosted on a hosting site like flickr or some other. And I'm pretty sure he must be gold or above to post a non image hosted site pic. Flickr is free up to one thousand pics...open an account and copy and paste the img code into your post here and it will show up

Whatever kind of device you have? There may be an app for that. Look for a picture/file sharing host. Prefreably one that is NOT porn related. You can use imgur.com, flickr, or any others. There are tutorials online on the "How To" part, search for it. In the mean time, searching here for threads on the subject is also a good idea. It's not a new question by any means.

This question comes up a lot, so here is a consolidation dump of several threads on posting pictures. In no specific order:

Okay guys and gals after messing around with knives for many years I just bought something I've never owned and can't remember seeing. This may be common and I'm just having a "Brain Cloud" but I do not see any mod what-so-ever to the main blade on this Shapleigh Diamond Edge Harness Jack I just don't recognize the blade shape but for $11 why not. It's in good condition just needs a little maintenance. I don't know much about this brand or harness jacks in general so any info would be deeply appreciated I'm not looking for a value so don't worry about that.

Randy my friend- how are you? I hope you are doing well!
Randy that looks to be a Easy Opener twin bladed Jack and not an Harness Jack, both the Main and Pen Blade are sharpened down to such a manner.

A well loved knife that today still warms the heart.
Somebody made themselves a double-punch jack :D

I have not seen many Schrade Cut Co MOP's in decent shape so I couldn't resist this whittler :thumbsup: Very smooth action and full snap on all blades; the file/pen blades have nice half stop too. I have my company "Holiday" party tonight and this one is going along :)

Have fun and good choice, Kevin ! A real Cut above...lovely in every respect !!

Nice one, Kevin!! Schrade Cut. Co. did make Pearl knives from time to time, both Pens and Regular Jacks.

Yeah- agreed - that is a nice wee knife- that brings me back to the 2016 Rendezvous- I finally met in person my friend Dave Gentry ( knowtracks )- I threw him a couple of wee Knives and he did so in return- lol he’s such a nice guy - but one of those was a real fine beautiful Pearl Schrade - it even had a sweetheart of a Bail that in itself was so nicely finished.

Now from memory it would have been a 50 possibly 60 year old knife.and was in immaculate condition.

I kinda felt proud handing that fine gentleman that knife.

Hollinger Fremont OH. Not much information on the net. 1905ish to 1958. I searched the porch and only found 2 examples, a few more over on aapk. If anyone has more information on Hollinger please share. Looking at pictures of a Claus barlow it looks very similar, same bolsters, same big nail nicks on both blades, both hail from Fremont OH. I wonder if Hollinger made knives for Claus or vice versa? Anyway on to this barlow and my apologies for the lackluster cell phone pictures. It's been raining since this knife arrived and supposed to rain all day again today so I stepped out to my car at lunch yesterday and snapped a few pictures. I do believe this barlow has jumped straight to my favorite of my paltry barlow collection :) It checks all the boxes for my tastes in vintage knives. Everything is crisp, it's uncleaned, full blades with the main filling the well, blades open and close like a new knife with strong pulls around a 6 or 7 with strong snaps, very well made with no gaps between liners and springs. Based on the workmanship I'm guessing this was made early on, 1920's to 30's.

I love the random deeper saw marks in the bone, gives it some unique character! It's rare to find such a nice knife with a tang stamp that is not in Goins catalog... more likely that Clauss made the Hollinger knife rather than vice versa. I will look around and see what I can dig up, sounds like a good research project while having coffee and watching Paladin (Have Gun Will Travel) this morning.

Correction: I guess Hollinger is in Goins... 1905 to 1958

Hope you find something Kevin. My search skills aren't the best. I did find info that Hollinger made knives and tools. I believe Claus made knives as well but we're primarily making shears. Case made knives for Claus too so we may never know which company made this Hollinger. Thanks
