"Old Knives"

Perhaps the copper pin is to fill the hole from a missing bail? I don't have a clue about the spacer.
Cool knife!
Excellent thinking. I believe you may be on to something. When I read your post I remembered Jack's post in the "Richartz and Richards" thread. He posted two Richards knives very similar to this one and they were tang stamped "No 30". Anyway I went back and looked at em and sure enough they both have bails. So most likely the copper spacer and the pin are a mod.? Thanks.

Okay, disregard the above response. For unknown reasons I had in my head the Richartz 88. This of course is a Kissing Crane. Thanks for not saying... "What in the world are you babbling on about??" I still believe your theory is correct. :D

That IS an interesting find you got there, Sir.
Yeah, it does kinda look modified doesn't it....if so, someone went to some trouble over it.
Made it a one-hander..
Thanks Pinemoon.

Is that the smaller pruner, like 3-3/4'' long closed? I love the feel of that style Ulster pruner with the swayback... I have a couple beat up ones that I use frequently outside
4 & 7/16ths " I got her out :D I think I'll call her Toasty, after the salt water croc in Costa Rica that would bite sea turtles in half at Playa Nancite
