Substantial indeed. That knife is one special specimen !!
Nicely made and finished punch on a great knife!!!
Very NICE Mike, look at that amazing Punch, combine that with the gorgeous bone, badge shield and blade etch...SweetGreat cattle knife Kevin. Here's an HSB stockman with a punch that still has the blueing on it. 3 1/8 closed.![]()

Your Challenge is the closest looking to Dwight's, but I was thinking you had one with the same shield as his too? It's still would not be definitive as to maker by shield alone. Thank you for posting your beauties as it's always great to see them !!!!!
Deal of the Century on a Grail knife in my eyes !! I knew you had oneGoing through some things I realized that I do in fact have an old HSB with the same shield. This is a three blade whittler with the Rev-O-Noc tang stamp, I got it at a large yard sale involving many yards in Niles California for a princely sum of $7:

Howard Hughes preferred his knives to be made from woodThanks guys. Too bad my fingerprints are all over the etch. I was hoping "Hughes" would be somehow related to Howard Hughes companies, but so far it looks like a law firm in Texas.
Nice profile on that. Looks like it could do some real workHere is my latest pickup, it's not a folder as you can see. My first Scagel, I've wanted one of these for as long as I can remember. Lucky to have gotten it.
I got the knife yesterday and it is nicer then I thought. It's 11 1/4" over all and the blade is 6 3/8" measuring the top of the blade. Very small amount of pitting at the cutting edge on both sides but the rest is just staining. I love the darn thing!!
