On Playing Wordle . . .

I fell off the wagon yesterday. And barely scraped by today:

Wordle 244 6/6

⬜🟨⬜🟨⬜
⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜
⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜
⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜
⬜⬜⬜🟩⬜
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

You could say that I performed the act of moving my body out of the trajectory of a projectile propelled from the barrel of a firearm. Metaphorically speaking of course. Yeah I know, it's time to get out of a wild west town of a certain name.

Glad to see I was not the only one to had a problem w/today's puzzle:

02/19/2022: Wordle 245 5/6

⬜⬜🟩⬜⬜
⬜🟨🟩⬜🟨
🟩⬜🟩🟩🟩
🟩⬜🟩🟩🟩
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

But again I was perplexed by a word with multiple possible spellings based on the change in only a single letter. As noted, I revealed 4 out of 5 letters in their proper locations on the 3rd try but had to guess twice more before I found the correct 2nd letter for the word in question.

This was very annoying. LOL! ;)

You'll find the same problem (again) in my solution of yesterday's puzzle as well, which I could have solved in 3 instead of 4 tries if I had chosen the correct 1st letter (which I had already revealed) to begin with. Oh well . . .

I just tried it for the first time yesterday and again today. I got it both days on the 5th try.
My work is more mathematical and I've never been great at crossword puzzles, so this might be good for me.

I got today's in three, but yesterday took me six. It's interesting how we all find different ones easy or difficult. Must have something to do with the choice of seed word.

02/20/2022: Wordle 247 3/6 TACIT :)

Some people on the Net who failed to solve this puzzle admitted (directly or indirectly) that they didn't know that TACIT was a "real" word.

LOL! ;)

I read the "Wordle News" every day because I have nothing better to do w/my time. LOL! ;)

And, much of what I read, is just TOO FUNNY!

Today, people are saying that they are swearing off Wordle because it has become "too elitist" and "too hard." Double LOL! ;) ;)

See, for example, Twitter Users Swear Off Wordle and, see also, Wordles Has Become Pretentious.

Are these words are being spoken by spoiled Millenials or Gen-X/Zers, you are use to being AWARDED just for showing up?

It's just a game and, as far as I can tell, little has changed since the NYT bought it.

So, these comments just seem to reflect the "spoiled, entitled" attitude of those who are speaking who have apparently a prejudice/chip on their shoulder against any institutions that are more "spoiled/entitled" than they are.

We need a "headslap" emoji. Insert one here. Triple LOL! ;) :) :)

Well, there apparently is a Wordle "math clone" called Nerdle that you may also want to try.

I tried it briefly and it's WAY TOO COMPLICATED for me but will probably be a breeze for you. LOL! ;)

See: A Wordle Math Clone.

More news which may be of as much relevance/importance to you, as it is for me.

Since acquring Wordle, the NYT has apparently embedded trackers in the game to monitor your web activity AFTER you sign off the game.

See, for example, Wordle Is Now Tracking You.

I'm not worried about the trackers (but am happy to know about them) because I use a VPN and a browser (Brave) and search engine (Brave & DuckDuckGo) that either does not allow any tracking of my activity or wipes all traces of any cookies and other such things out after I've closed the browser.

So, I haven't noticed any werid commercial "offers" since the NYT took over.

But, if you don't use such things to protect your privacy, you may want to being doing so, if you are as involved in playing Wordle as I am.

Hump that, struggling with math and coding is my day job!
Thanks for the suggestion though.
I improved to 4 on today's Wordle...

mini nerdlegame 34 4/6

Played the "easy" version of the game and actually got the right answer in 4 tries but I'm going to stick w/Wordle. LOL! ;)
