However, it can be argued that the word is not properly spelled w/o an additional notation. Ran into the same problem in an earlier puzzle (#54) which I didn't think was properly spelled and failed for that reason.

Yes, my wife tried MOXIE first. In my limited experience you rarely go wrong picking the most common possibility. I actually wish they would use some more interesting variants.
 
Since the shutdown of the Old Wordle Archive by the NYT, there's now a new Wordle Archive that has been created which will allow you to play a specific puzzle (all the way back to #1) or an unlimited # of random games.

However, the numbering of the games in the New Wordle Archive is NOT the same as the old one and doesn't not match exactly w/the complete word list before the NYT bought Wordle because it starts w/Game #2 and will also differ because of edits that the NYT has made to the list (and only 2 of those are known so far).

Don't know how long the New Wordle Archive will stick around. So, if you want to play any past games, you better get started now. ;)

Based on my experience, after playing all 272 games to date, it could go either way. It just depends . . . 🤷‍♂️

I made a blunder. On the second grid, I made a guess with a letter in the wrong place. 🤦‍♂️ If not for that, I would have had 4, 5, 6, 7, instead of 4, 6, 7, 8.

Congrats! but the "holy grail" in Quordle to me is a 3/4/5/6 finish. So, it's still something that you can strive for. :)

A 2/3/4/5 finish is theoreticaly possible but I think the odds of doing that are substantially less than a 3/4/5/6 and, if you ever achieve that, you should announce it to the WORLD on Twitter and other social media sites.

I know that I would and I don't even use those sites. LOL! ;)

Birdie 3 on a lucky guess on the only word that seemed to fit the 2 letters revealed in the 1st 2 tries. :)

All 5 letters revealed w/the S in the green in the 1st 2 tries made this an easy solve but there are those on the Net who argue that the word is improperly spelled w/o the accent over the E.

Wordle doesn't include letter notations like accents, tildes or umlauts for foreign words and this threw me off when I was working backwords playing prior puzzles on the Old Wordle Archive when I encountered the word MASSÉ w/o the accent mark as a possible answer but rejected it because I thought that MASSE was not how it should be spelled. So, I learned the hard way to now ignore the absence of any letter notations in determining the proper spelling of a word in Wordle.

Seems trival and an example of "over thinking" but there are those who currently think believe SAUTE should be spelled SAUTÉ are currently having problems w/this word on Wordle as a result.

The lack of accent aigu was irrelevant to me, and I am bilingual English and French since infancy. I think being angry over Wordle 272 is... overreacting.

Like pulling teeth -- just revealed 1 letter at a time for the 1st 4 tries setting up the Bogie 5. :(

At least it wasn't one of those words that could be changed in multiple ways by just changing a single letter or it would have been a fail. :mad:
