Only one...

Since my latest addition to the family, I'd like to shake up the tally, change my answer, and add the BK5 to the list. JUST AS capable as a BK7, better defensive capabilities (because you know I've already gotten into like thirty knife fights this week) and a longer blade to aid in that there batoning you are going to have to do since you got no axe. Yup. BK5. Get some.
 
I was wondering why the 5 hadn't been mentioned much. I'd think it would be an excellent choice.
 
since I don't have a 2, 7, OR 9, I guess I should vote for their mathematic average -- the BK6 patrol machete.
shelter building, tree processing multifora devouring, firepit digging machine.
although the BK12 gets an honorable mention.

On the topic of the bk6, Ethan lists it as his favorite on his about me profile page.....me thinks we shall see a ka-bar version sometime.:thumbup:

You could borrow my BK-7 if you want.
 
Of the ones I have 2,9 & 11 I would take the 9 as my one knife. The 9 does everything really well for me. I admit I do need to try a 7 some day, but for now the 9 has it.
 
I would go with the 9. If I only have one tool it needs to be able to chop. The BK9 is also relatively lightweight so it is a good all around knife too.
 
Since this whole thing is in theory I would grab a theoretical BK9 that I would theoretically have some day. Only reason I say that is because I've handled the 2, 7, and 9, but only one I have right now is the 2.

Buy my vote is the 9. :thumbup:
