Awesome. So what do you think of the version you have? I'd imagine it's comfy in hand.
Yeah, it's nice. Good traction too, without being annoyingly aggressive. I'll prolly remove the lanyard though, don't find it necessary and it just gets in the way.

You might want to give that lanyard a try for a bit. I don't have any other knife with a lanyard on it but since I use this as a work knife, I found the lanyard quite handy to just give a tug to get it out of my pocket or tool bags without looking or any effort. Also, it is a great addition this time of year if I am wearing gloves as I don't have to put any effort into getting the knife into my hand for immediate use.
Just my 0.02...

I don't do much outdoor stuff, so I pretty much only carry knives clipped to my pocket, doesn't take any effort or looking to get it out that way. Don't wear gloves, either...I live in Texas, and like the cold, which we rarely get, heh. I won't even wear a coat if the temperature is above the teens...
After having my utilitac II now for a while I've got to say Im not a huge fan of AUS8 steel . I've heard it compared to 440B , I do not agree with that assesment . I find it hard to sharpen , Doesnt hold the edge all that well . That being said like OP said its under 30 bucks . I guess ya get what ya pay for . I do not hate the knife either though .
Whaaa? AUS8 is a breeze to sharpen, takes no effort at all. Seriously man, a lot of people dislike AUS8, mostly because it's edge retention is just okay...but I've never heard ANYONE say it was hard to sharpen before!
And Grownstar, yep, live in Crowley, just a little south of Fort Worth.
Awesome. Good to meet ya, officially. I live waaayyy south. As in 4 hours south of San Antonio.
What steels are you accustomed to? 154CM it is not, but it beats out my CRMOV blades. After having my utilitac II now for a while I've got to say Im not a huge fan of AUS8 steel . And then you know, 4 hours away in Texas is "a little down the road".
I'm actually in San Antonio myself!
Back on topic, when I wear gloves they are usually White Mules or similar. I am in construction as I mentioned, and while I don't worry about getting cold down here, I work with concrete roof tiles, set piers, do some hand digging as needed, clean up my job sites, do demolition, etc. as part of my normal course of work.

I've picked up 3 Utilitac folders recently, and everyone has been slick and well made, a LOT of knife for the price.
