Opinels

The Garden knife is one of my favs! Perfect in every way IMO!

not the garden knife, which I also have but here's a carbon paring knife that I rehandled as a friction folder.

I'll get the rest of my opinel collection up once I get them all photographed.

Very cool lemepris!

Here are my latest 2 mods.
The #7 was generously given to me by KYenglish so I could tinker with it.(Thanks again Peter)

A couple of months ago i didn't even own an Opinel. Now i have a 6,7,8,9,and 10 all carbon.

After looking I messed up. One has already come the third from the right (oak/Inox) and the sheath for a 7 or 8. Now it is current!

I use a standard #8 carbon as a "gentlemans steak knife"
I got all my kids one also, #7s in stainless, as they are 11-16, and diff colors

Very interesting knives, only started looking at them a couple months ago.
Beware! Opinels are so well made, so sharp and easy to sharpen that combined with their low cost you will blink and suddenly have a half dozen or more!
Great knives and probably what I might take on a fast and light backpacking trip due to low weight and usability.
Get one or a dozen.

Billym, you are right about a few things. At the price you can pick up a few for the price of one of the other knives, both the carbone and Inox do sharpen very well and not many more for the dozen.

Just to keep it going I bought one on Monday and one on Tuesday off the bay. Notice I don't say "win". Got an 8 Inox with a sheath for a little over $10 and got an 8 Inox with a wood burning of a pointer dog and birds and a rabbit, that was $14.50. When they came in I will get a group shot including the green 7 Inox I got on Monday. That makes 11 so I am working on the dozen.
