Bodhi..... can you send us an email (addresses at the bottom of the order instruction page #1 post) if you haven't already. That way your order won't get misplaced.

Thanks,

Hey guys,

I have a Renaissance faire this weekend. Depending on where I end up sleeping I may not have net access until I return. I'll pop in shortly before I head out (around 3-4pm central time). otherwise, it may be Monday night or Tuesday morning before I am back on.

Thanks for the heads up Ken. To remind everyone, CC me with your order to Ken so we have a back up record.

Also with as many knives are Ken is getting now be prepared to wait at least 2-4 months. Possibly more depending on how many knife we get here. I know we all do not want to sacrifice quality for quick delivery.

Ken also has a full time job....... we should all keep that in mind;)

19 people in so far. $10.52 total donation for the stamp and Spark's knife. $150.52 total for finished knife.

Deposit/emails sent for full flat, drop point, Maple handle, loveless, thong hole, and a leather sheath. Will we get an email when we need to send the rest of the money? Thanks again for helping me decide!

Well, I got back this morning, and I have looked over everything so far. I have received all of tha MO's that have been listed. the last one came in today's mail.

You guys are running me out of steel, If I get just 4 more orders for the scandis I'll have to order more!!! :)

Seriously, thanks for the interest, and all the orders so far. I am thinking to make a complete list avaliable on June 2 to verify I have everything correct, and to make sure that there are no surprises later. Let's make sure that everyone gets exactly what they want.

Ken..... the list is a great idea. We can create a thread and get everyones buy off. No surprises, and you can go at it with confidence that what your making is correct.

Deposit sent for Scandi Grind (edge close to plunge), Loveless Rivets, Maple, Lanyard Hole, and Sheath (righthand).

:)

pardon my ignorance....but what steel is IronWolf's knife gonna be? I've read this thread but seem to be missing this detail....

I am using 1084, fully hardened, with a spine and tang draw to spring.

Ken

Ken, not sure if this has been discussed, but will the spine be square and "sharp" (not a swedge), so that it works good on a firesteel?. Otherwise I'll have to grab the diamond stones...
Good examples of a good sharp spine are Fallkniven F1's.

Thanks,
Ted

I was planning to "break" the edges of the spine near the handle, so that it is more comfortable and won't dig into your thumb, I am going to leave the spine with sharp 90's for use with a fire steel further out. I have also found that having the last 1/2" of spine behind the point having sharp edges helps with an initial penetration.

Leaving the spine square on a scandi grind near the point also makes it a better drill. You can just roll the handle between your palms:thumbup:

No sweat, it is one of the perks of using knives a lot, finding those little extras and tweaking them here and there. I have had both of the prototype knives on my belt since I finished them, I want to make sure everything works well. So far they have been through daily use on a farm, and three weekends out, one camping in the woods, and two renfaires camping afterwards onsite.
