Order instructions for BF survival knife from IronWolf

Cool, thanks Spark. this is getting to be a fun project.

Maple handled scandi grind sound good for you?

Ken

Maple handled flat grind for me. Email and Paypal sent.

What's the total count now, how big is this getting to be?

Morning, just got back from a Renaissance Faire.

A quick look at page one shows 14 people so far, I think it is closer to 20 or so knives and blades.

Ken

Sorry Guys.... I was out for a long weekend. I just added two more guys to the list, so we are at 17 guys now.

Spark..... thanks for the global announcement:thumbup:

$200 / 17 guys = $11.76 total for the donation knife, and stamp.

Really looking forward to these IW. With the 1/8" thickness and scandi grind should be demon cutting implements.

I'm torn between a flat grind and a scandi grind. Any reason why scandi is superior to flat? Is it just blade strength?

I think if it is a full flat grind cutting ability should be as good, but I like the blade and handle design on the Scandi one better because it has more of a point to it Also I think a Scandi grind with a point like that lends itself a bit more toward drilling.

Hollow (as usual) explained it spot on. I ordered the full flat just because this is going to be a skinning knife for me. If I was looking for more of a general field blade, I would look to the scandi. However you will do well with either.

Well, I am already starting on the project, so that I hopefully won't be swamped on the first of June. I do have a very busy summer scheduled, but there should be no reason for me not to get two days a week to work on these knives. I believe, in the first post tarmix mentioned a time line that the two of us were trying to set up. I want to make sure that I can get everything done well, not just quickly. I will try to keep everyone posted as to the progress of this project. I will need to know the final count before I can make a decent guess as to how soon though. If I were to guess now, and then get three times the number of orders.... Mabey not that many, but I don't want to lead anyone on.
