the very tiny little speckles or dots around the two pocket clip screws- that's pitting (corrosion).

not a problem. Once you experience it, you won't forget what pitting is- a lot more annoying to get rid of than surface rust.

I can take wear on a knife, and I think it actually looks cool, but I wouldn't be able stand something like pitting or rust on a knife.
