I don't really know that much about weight loss, but this is how I look at it. I'll eat 2,500 calories before my workout/exercise. After I'm done working out/exercising, I'll have burned 3,000 calories, therefore I lost 500 calories. I don't know if those numbers should be higher or lower, but that was just an example.
Your number are off a bit. The average male burns around 3500 calories per day, a pound of fat is rated at 3600 calories. It doesn't matter what goes on in any given time frame of the day it is what the total calories in and the total out. If a person has a 500 calorie/day deficit that is 3500 calorie loss per week or about 1 pound.
