I know, then I said, "You say that now, but you'll want some badazz scales sooner or later :D"

That implies I don't want them right now;) now lets talk knives not grammar! What do you guys think of the viper "start" folder in micarta?

Having read way too many comments on the Grips I can say with confidence that I am one of the very few who isn't put off by the weight or or feel of the handles. Especially in the mini grip. I don't want the mini any heavier.

I have owned a couple of full size grips and currently own a 2013 shot grip and I find the extra weight of the G10 handle makes the feel of the knife less nimble, kind of slows it down if you will. If the full size grip was always produced with carbon fiber handles I think there would be a lot fewer folks saying how cheap it feels and actually praising the light weight.

The 0777 has a similar feel to the balance of handle to blade weight and yes it does put some owner off by a cheap feel.

The Gold Class full-size Grips use carbon fiber scales. And M4 steel. And cost a small fortune.

I think the default Noryl GTX and Grivory scales are fine. I did get a couple sets of Wilkins Grips though (one large, one small), just because they look awesome. They feel great in hand and do offer a little better grip towards the base of the handle.

I have no problem with the plastic scales. They actually felt really comfortable and I was surprised at how lightweight the Grip was compared to how "large" it looked. I have no doubts that they would perform just as well as G-10 would in normal EDC tasks. I think I'm going to wait until tomorrow to order my Grip.

First of all, good luck Jim!

And knotty, sounds like you had a good time! And I think you would love a griptilan/delica great knives if you ask me:thumbup:

Thanks! Back now. Tired and burnt. I got the Flea Market on me! Ewwww. Shower, dinner and back to the Spyderco/Benchmade... oh wait I mean Kershaw/ZT Forums thread here :D

My little kitten was laying with, then I had to get up, so I decided to take some pics of her.

Here are some shots of the BK11 that I won in the giveaway. It's a pretty stout little fixed blade. I'm liking it so far. One complaint that I have is the retention with the sheath isn't very good. I can shake the knife out with a modest shake. It didn't come very sharp though, but that's because it was used. The coating seems VERY tough. It's hard to tell It's been used. It also has a nice mirror-polished edge. I hate to ruin the mirror-polish, but I'm gonna have to sharpen it.

When we were driving home, my mom wanted to stop at a candle store, which was also part antique store, and I saw this POS and had my mom buy it for $1.50. I'm going to sharpen it up and maybe f*** around with it. I can't tell if It's a kitchen knife, or part machete. I've never seen a kitchen knife with a swedge like that.

Sorry for the blurry pictures. I guess my phone didn't feel like taking pics today.

That big knife is an old buchers knife....should sharpen up good, and be pretty fun to play with!

Good to know. I'm going to make it my "f*** around knife". I could also use it as my practice knife for sharpening. I think later on I'm going to experiment with polishing everything up and smoothing out the wood handles.

My personal "F*** around knife" is a hatchet lol......

The Becker sheaths are horrible. They also dull the knife when sheathing and unsheathing the knife. Look for a kydex sheath as a replacement.

Get a griptilian through gpknives. Not many vendors I have seen beat their Benchmade pricing.

You just saved my life. I was looking on their website yesterday, but I wasn't really paying attention to their prices. I just sent them an e-mail for the plain jane Griptilian and the price was a lot better than other websites I've seen. No more decisions.
