Order of KAI Official Hang Out; Part Deux - It's Enrico Palazzo!

On a different note I'm back from Chicago, absolutely beat, and get to go start figuring out my new position tomorrow :).

P.s. I am also bugging stick for light advice in a pm so I guess I can join that club now too lol.

How easily does CPMD2 rust? I think I've got some rust spots on my DLC JYD. I did cut up a hot dog with it.

The coating should prevent the rust I would think. Have you tried rubbing the spots off with a little oil?

I haven't had any problems anywhere except right on the edge. It rusts pretty easy in my opinion.
That's where it's most noticeable, although I can see some dots in/on the DLC in the right light. I think I'll get some Flitz tomorrow and try to get them off.

What are your guys' opinions on becoming a Conservation Officer?

And no, my JYD is the DLC version.

oh ya, and i chopped 8 branches off and trimmed them to fit in our compost bin with my 0200, it performed flawlessly, it only had one bur in the tip where i dropped it and even thats gone from sharpening it, 154cm is my new favorite steel (that I own)
also, im thinking of getting my 0200 pimped by rival, all carbon fiber scales with white g10 bolsters and a stonewashed acid washed blade, the center of gravity is already in the finger groove, so im thinking the carbon fiber will really make it front heavy, wich is what i really want

What are your guys' opinions if I decided to become a Conservation Officer?

no i mean under the dlc, the 0200s if i remember are bead blasted and than have the dlc coated, if you polished the steel than dlc'd it it would be shiny

opinions: i dont know, what for?

Conservation officer careers can offer a decent salary depending on where you are. Keep in mind that hunting seasons will be your busiest so if you love hunting you won't be able to do very much of it yourself. Also keep in mind that it can be pretty dangerous depending on the area, some poachers would just as soon kill an officer as face arrest or even simply running away. This becomes dangerous because many times there won't be any backup anywhere near you. But being a criminal justice major I can understand it, if you accept the above drawbacks and are seriously interested then you should look into it more.

I've read into it a little bit. Conservation Officers in Michigan make less than the National Average, but I'll be able to do something I love. I'll be in the woods most of the time and I'll get to stay relatively close to home. I'm not so much worried about the people, but they're by far more dangerous than any animal. The hunting could be an issue though, but I do get to pick my own hours I believe. I'll be in the woods on days like Opening Day, but days like that are the busiest for hunters, so it's pretty much guaranteed that I'll have to work. I read a thread about being a Conservation Officer and one member said you get to "keep" snowmobiles, ATV's, jet skies and boats etc. For the job.
