Truthfully, and I'll probably get myself in serious doodoo with, as Charlels calls them, "the bigs" :rolleyes:, but I was "thinking" of giving one knife to everyone that has posted in this thread over the last 2 weeks.

Ha! Can you imagine that?!? That would be a nightmare...people just going crazy with screenshots of them posting as far back as page 1!

Nevermind, literally just as i was typing that my mom informs me we cant go to that one, anyone know of a good knife shops from maple grove jewel iowa?
 
Hey seelow, what kind of sander do u use for grinding? I am thinking of investing in new equipment if i think i can handle making knives
 
Except for the 7 hour drive. That's going to suck. I'll probably download some Japanese audio lessons so I can listen to them on the drive there.

Right now I'm using a craftsman 2x42 belt sander and it works alright but it's definitely not cut out for knifemaking in my opinion. It's too fast (3500 rpm) and the speed isn't variable. It is a great starting grinder but you will have to upgrade pretty fast if you're serious about knifemaking. I'll probably be getting a Grizzly 2x72 or a Wilmont whenever funds will allow it.

Pretty good. Spent the majority of the day shopping for the kids school lothes that they yet needed and got all three new shoes. We ate out at pizza hut since it was getting late. I noticed a man sitting by himself eating and just seemed to be very happy, smiling and whatnot to himself. It put a smile on my face! He had a dissability could only use one hand but was just happy as could be. I walked by to check out and he smiled and nodded at me and I to him. I was paying for our meal and I asked the cashier if I could pay for his. I did so and I think as I walked out the door his waitor was telling him. He put a smile on my face so I decided to try and put one on his. Its awesome he wasn't letting anything get him down!

Anyway that was the highlight of my night, wife asked what I was smiling about on the way home 5 mins down the road!

I have a few things I feel like I need to tell you guys about my day today. I was walking down the row of corn like normal pulling tassels and I pulled one out at an angle instead of straight up and the bottom end of the tassel whipped up, and believe it or not, the end went up my right nostril and cut me. It hurt for a few seconds and started to bleed. The blood was annoying because it was building up in my mouth and whenever I spit it out I forgot I had a hat with a mask on (mandatory to wear) and it would get all over my mask, and some of the corn. That was at about 7:30. Next, one of the bosses (there's 3, Joe, Tim and Lori) said before we even started picking that if any of the foremens notice a couple kids in their group (there's 4 kids in a group) that are going quicker than the others and getting most, if not all the tassels to tell him so they could possibly go to the clean-up crew. Guess what? My foremen recommended me to Tim and he said I'll most likely be put on the clean-up crew, and I'm only a 1st year. Clean-up crew is mainly filled with 3rd years and above. I'll get to work more hours and I'll earn more per hour! For those of you who don't know, people on clean-up crew double pick the rows of corn (1 person for 2 rows) and pick any remaining tassels that first pull (mainly 1st years who go down the corn first and get the majority of the tassels) missed. In simple terms, I'm moving up and getting paid more!

I'm going to walk down to Wal-Mart and see if they have any Flitz or any of the new releases/Wal-mart exclusives.
 
I was at walmart yesterday and they had a whole new lineup of kershaws so they should have them at ur store as well Knotty. Congrats on the job man..I start my new one tomorrow with Fritolay as a driver. Im hoping to finally find something i like to do for a living lol

I've been to one Wal-Mart in a busier city and they had the new Kershaws, but the one I'm walking down to now for the 2nd time didn't have them before. If they do, I might just have to buy something.
 
I live in very small town and they have cryo, ts tanto blur, funxion ems, black leek, and one another..... I really liked the blur and will be getting one soon. I looked everywhere yesterday and couldnt find a single store in this town that had pelican cases!
 
Hey guys, im happy, went to a cabelaanearby, had kershaw, benchmade, spydero, camillus, cold steel, all that stuff, im happy, had a great conversation with the clerk talking about 154cm and how kershaw is amazing, got to hold half the invantory, the guy even asked me a question when he was stubbed explaining something to a customer. I finally got my hands on a blade mag! Im so happy! When im old enough i cant wait to try and work there

I happened to be at my local Walmart yesterday as well, and I stopped by the sporting goods area to check out the new TS Blur. They were completely sold out (the attendant even checked the store inventory system, and they were all gone). Thought I'd check out the Shuffle, since I saw the placeholder on the shelves for that. Also sold out. I was actually there to pick up a kitchen trash can (just a common 13-gallon one with the step), and they were sold out of those too. Was 0 for 3 yesterday...
 
I'm back from Wal-Mart. They had all the new stuff except the TS Blur. They still had the regular Tanto with Serrations Blur, but they did have a spot for the TS one. I tried to buy a Shuffle, but the clerk said I had to be 16, and I'm 15. I wasn't going to walk home empty-handed though, so I bought a bunch of Little Debbie stuff :p.
