Nitecore is a good brand, as is Klarus. Klarus is a bit newer, but I played with a lot of their stuff at Blade Show at Going Gear's booth. Very nice stuff, and they felt very well-built. Nitecore has been around a long time, and if you find a light with the specs you want I wouldn't hesitate to get it from them. Just try to get it from a good dealer, as avoiding the warranty department in China is something you may want to do. They have a decent warranty, but you'd have to send it all the way back to China.
There are other good options though, like the Armytek Partner, the EagleTac DC series clickies, and the Foursevens Quarks that have single AA formats. If you don't mind a tail button instead of a mechanical clicky, you could take a look at the Spark SL5. Spark makes some pretty cool lights, I've always thought they were slick.

Yeah ... now having a collapsed lung is where it's at! I can't believe you are having all that fun with out us!Christ people, too much drama up in this place. that's no fun.
Just awesome.Sitting here, just got back from my kids open house and Ipad insurance meeting. My youngest is sitting in the row with us and leans over to tell me he has to use the bathroom. I tell the other two to sit still and we break for the little boys room. He goes into the stall and I am left there staring at the floor waiting. 4 mins. later I'm still waiting. I finally ask him what he's doing. As soon as the words leave my mouth, I hear a sploosh. He goes " I'm poopin dad" I laugh, luckily we are the only two in there. Then out of no where he says " haha, it looks like a samwhich" I almost died of laughter! Luckily nobody heard him and we ran back out to the gymnasium. I am still laughing about it! He's such a spittin image of his dad! Reminds me of one of my favorite quotes changed for the occasion, "that's my son god dammit"!
If you can't handle it perhaps this is not the place for you. The thread is meant for having a fun time and talking about whatever it is we feel like talking about.
Poking fun at each other, snarcasm (new word, oh yeah!), razzing, etc... is par for the course. I shouldn't need to state this but here I find myself typing it. Moody, attitudes etc... are not welcome. We are here to have fun!

On a serious note, hope its getting better brother
I appreciate the longer response.. But yeah, that sounds like a lot of fun. Destroying stuff is always fun.Yeah buddy...suck it sticky!
But yes knotty, I work in demolition. My job for the past 14 or so years has consisted of me breaking and knocking down everything from sheetrock offices to poured in place concrete structures (walls, floors, roofs, etc.) and everything in between. They company I work for is a series of industrial buildings and they rent out the lofts to whoever wants the space and signs the lease. So if the previous tenant left offices and the incoming tenant doesn't need them, we come in remove it and leave the loft as per the incoming tenant's specs.
Sometimes they need more space so if there is a connecting wall to another vacant loft, then it comes down to accommodate whatever the new tenant wants. Plus we do whatever else the complex needs us to do, maintenance of the complex, snow duty, moving equipment from place to place. We aid the city marshal in evicting tenants who haven't paid the rent in sometime, just a slew of things that keep me pretty busy.
Hurricane Sandy hit us hard, and since we're close to the water we felt the brunt of it. We lost power for the better part of a week and had our basements filled with about 9' of sea water. What made things worse is all our electrical service equipment is below grade so they all got damaged. I worked about 18 hr days that whole week...sticky remembers that because we would talk about it and I'd send him pictures of what I was dealing with...but damn that was one hell of a paycheck. I made $1,500 in overtime alone.
..that was cool but it took me about 2 months to recover physically from all that work.
Anyway, there ya go knotty. Sorry for making it as long as I did but a short answer just wouldn't cut it
Don't be sad, get Glad!!!Most people say the same thing.
Look it up.daeymuhn, what was last nights baseball score?
I knew who the guy was, but I didn't personally know him. I was actually pretty sad knowing that my dad respected him very much. That sucks. I salute the man for his service once a brother, always a brother![]()
Thank goodness for Dr. V.
Nobody asked or needed your help in the first place.can you not use sarcasm all the time? especially when im trying to help
Whoa! Hold your horses! I like to think I have pretty tough skin and don't get as butt hurt as most "young bucks". You can take getting hurt in the butt in stride? Creepy!I will point out that most of the young bucks are the ones getting all butt hurt about things. Most of us have a little more life experience and can take it in stride.
+1 to this. I will say sarcasm is hard to pick up in text vs in voice. I am a very sarcastic person so someone like Stick and I would get along well. I will point out that most of the young bucks are the ones getting all butt hurt about things. Most of us have a little more life experience and can take it in stride.
Just out of curiosity (because I'm a curious person), how much time and work goes into uploading a video? I imagine it gets pretty tiring and frustrating at times.A side note...wait until you see my 0801 review. I'm pretty happy with it, as Manny and I tried something a little bit different. I'll work on editing it tonight so it can go up tomorrow while I'm at work. Dave's videos are done, but I'll render them out from home since my desktop PC has the horsepower to process the footage in no time at all. I'm actually pretty impressed with how smooth the editing process is on my laptop here. No hiccups, prerendering worked flawlessly without much downtime, and despite the lesser resolution the workspace was still usable.
If/when Manny and I go away for another knife show or event, I can feel comfortable taking this with me to do quick edits and uploads instead of waiting to get home.
Wait...his deuce looked like a sandwich?
That's pretty funny though. Gotta love toilet humor.![]()
Just awesome.
i understand this, i was just saying something mark wanted me to, i just wasnt to thrilled with sticks sarcasm, (wich by the way im sort of getting use to, i cant really tell over just words)
im done talking about that now,
stick, i thought you already put up an 0801 review?
:thumbup:I did not. I put up a video of how it struck me at first go.
As for the underlying negativity topic, I want to express something rather plainly. Yes VVVVVV, you're trying to help. Great. I'm not sure exactly how, but fine. Noble gesture that you're the intermediary between Mark and this publicly viewable forum on the Internet. That wasn't plain old sarcasm, by the way, it was mockery. Why? Because I think that the whole situation is a farce and you shouldn't be facilitating it.
As I saw it, Mark missed out on knife giveaways. He got upset that he did, but instead of just going with the flow and being grateful that we were all having a good time, and having a go, he got pissy and moody like a child. If he didn't like us having a go at him, he could have just said that it wasn't cool and that we should just lay off. Instead, he got pissy and posted dramatic nonsense about the sentimentality of how spending time with his family is so much better than getting free knives. Well...duh. No one actually implied that he should stay glued to the screen so as not to miss the chance for a giveaway. It that wasn't an eye-roll-worthy moment then I don't know what is.
Then, he has a go at Gino for bringing negativity to the hangout thread. The moderator who was giving away ZTs for kicks, brought negativity. Oh yeah...that's a nice "how do you do?" Manny was right, that whole stunt made everyone look bad in front Thomas. Me included. Manny still retains awesome status. That being said, am I seriously the only one who saw that Mark pulled this "If I personally see something I don't like I'm going to get him involved" crap directed at the mod who was giving away gifts? I really couldn't believe it when I saw it. It was clear that Mark was acting like a little child that didn't have the maturity to apologize for acting like a jerk and sitting in Kai's lap to slap his face.
VVVVVVV, you want to help? It's my opinion that you just don't. Mark's a kid, he's demonstrated that quite clearly. You are a kid, you continue to demonstrate that even now. A kid playing telephone for another, or doing this "You can tell them that I'm blah blah blah" is nonsense. Mark has something to say? He should be an adult and say it himself instead of getting you, some other kid, to speak for him. No one said he can't post here. It was Mark who did that nonsense dramatic exit and pretended to be super-mature about it. I can see through it, I hope others can as well.
None of this dramatic emo junk is necessary. He wants to come back and act like an adult? Fine with me, I like the kid. He's got a good heart, a sound mind, and a decent sense of humor. His problem is that he's a kid. You are too VVVVV, and personally it would behoove Mark to not get tangled in your child-telephone game because it's not going to benefit him or you.
This is a knife forum. We collect and use dangerous objects that have the potential to hurt others and ourselves. There are laws restricting the sale, ownership, and use of these tools and weapons. Maturity should be a given, yet here we all are witnessing kid's play in the midst of it. Why is it that I have to explain all this to you? I make jokes, most of them aren't good. However I'm mature enough to know when I'm being inappropriate or when I should take a step back. I've done it before, I've apologized to people before. That's part of being an adult. I'm not seeing any of that here from either you VVVVVVVVV, or Mark.
Grow. Up.
