Order of KAI Official Hang Out; Part Deux - It's Enrico Palazzo!

Those are a bit above my talents ATM although I do appreciate you taking the time to draw them up.

The knife I made is going to be fairly simple. It will probably be a small/medium sized fixed blade in something like O1. I don't have the equipment to do anything super fancy guys, sorry.

You stress too much, Daymon. You're 15 and you're not going to get any younger so live it up and enjoy your childhood while you can and try not to let things get to you. I got depressed pretty easily when I was a younger teenager and still do from time to time but I've come to realize that things will be much harder when I'm on my own and have to support myself and possibly a family. Take time and enjoy your youth.

This isn't just based on your recent posts either, I've gathered this opinion over awhile of observing your posts here.

Yea, having no real responsibilities except for school is awesome. It gets more awesome when you get your license and a car..........Or so I've heard.

Listen to them. They know of what they speak.
gotta agree bro, things only get more tough, both emotionally and physically demanding, just live it up now while you have the chance.....

I should go. I think Indy is the closest it will be to me.

not a fan of geoff?

explain?
(just curious)

Personally, he seems like a nice enough person. Surprisingly more so than some other YouTube people. However his designs are just...ugly. The toad thing was cute, for about an hour, but everything afterward seems over the top for its own sake. Kind of like he's making TOPS knives with the acid/stone wash.

And that TuffTanic...not a fan. Not even remotely close to practical in design, and certainly not for me. There seems to be a new trend in amateur knifemakers where things are overly stylized for its own sake, and it's just ugly. Two makers in particular come to mind, and it's starting to look like all the class has flowed out of their source of inspiration.

Just my thoughts, of course.

Ha! Toughthumbs...that was good :p

Well, yes. That's how you spell those words and I'm not going to offend my first language for the namesake of a "pimper." For chrissakes, it's his fault the word has list all meaning.

Despite appearances, I'm in a very good mood this morning. Manny and I now both have a 0600, serial numbers 2 and 3. :D Sent to us courtesy of Thomas W. That's why he's the coolest cat ever. While those dudes on the BladeHQ video are fighting over who won a gift card, we're chillin' with the second and third RJ flippers. Life is good to those with integrity.

I would rather be poor with my honor, than rich without.

Tough (:D) seems like a nice dude. But in my opinion he usually charges too much for his work. I remember he was selling friction folders for $300 dollars, simply because they were one of a kind. The most I am so far planning on spending for a knife is one of Tom Krein's folders. Probably in the $600 range, but he is a master in my mind.

I also am not a fan of everything being acid washed either. It think it takes away from the finish side of Fit and Finish. Just my opinion, and try not to burn me alive :D.

I agree completely. On Tom Krein, I've held his work, and it's pure class. Beautiful stuff, functional and in my opinion, extremely elegant. I'd also pay some good money for it.

I agree as well on the acid wash. The look of steel I think is gorgeous. It's cool when metal looks like metal, which is why I'm often not a fan of coatings. Acid stone washing everything just makes everything look...gross. It's pretty much the equivalent to a teenager thinking that skulls on everything is cool.

While at blade I looked at the stuff on his table and while really pricy, it was absolutely perfect he does charge high prices but you can see he puts a lot of time into each knife to make it perfect. One of the dealers actually had a blue spyderco military with a reptilian pattern...I would have gotten it in a heartbeat until he told me he wanted $200. :barf: in retrospect it wasn't really a had price. A new military is about $130 and $70 for scales isn't bad.

Alright. Stick, do you have any ideas on where I can preorder an 0801CF? I missed out on Dave's list.

Steel, you should also scope out New Graham if you haven't, and also House of Blades. I know Matt from House of Blades doesn't do preorders, but he usually gets some in. So, if you're still looking by the time they drop, and I find one available for sale I'll pick one up for you. Worst case is I'll end up with an extra, which I can easily sell anyway. So, I'll try to score one for you in addition to you looking.

VVV, I know that, thank you. However I really doubt that toughthumbs meant to portray that rock in his online handle.

SoOOoOOoO, here's something nice, ZT0600, serial number 0002. Manny is getting #0003. They arrived yesterday courtesy of Thomas W, who again, is the most awesome person in the world.
