Order of KAI Official Hang Out; Part Deux - It's Enrico Palazzo!

Unless otherwise noted, I work everyday. By law, I can work 6 days in a row until I need a day off. Tomorrow will be my 2nd day in a row after my day off Friday.

When you're on salary you'll find that no longer holds. No days off except by the Grace of God or stipulation of contract.

Stick, I'm sure you're a great person even if you're not proving it to me at the moment. I understand perfectly what you're saying, but I'm not sure the dividing line between right and wrong is a stark as you make out in this case. If the largesse is part of his business plan then the whole point is word of mouth. Thus, the notion that he wants to keep a 'low profile' may be something that reinforces your biases, but have little to do with this case.

I'm not proving anything to anyone. I do what I like and what feels good. That extends from giving and loaning items that people enjoy to telling you to stop making assumptions of, and speaking on behalf of, a friend of mine. Not only am I a customer of Dave, I'm a friend of his. While I have yet to speak to Dave specifically about what you've said, there are things he's asked me to keep quiet, and unless he expressly advertises something, it's good practice to keep things quiet.

You somehow feel the need to just drag this out with mindless banter, and while I can imagine why, you need to let it go. You actually said "Maybe Dave will give you something. He does that." Really? What relationship do you have with Dave that you would drop his name in the possibility of him giving someone a knife? You go on to say "I wasn't volunteering Dave for this service, just noting that sometimes people give or loan knives to people who've lost or had them stolen. There's a lot of precedent for this, both on this forum and over on USN. It's a nice thing to do. I only own one premium knife or I'd offer myself." Now it's a service? No, it's just that sometime people give or loan knives to people. Happens on the USN apparently all the time. Great! You're literally now just calling on other people to go ahead and give the guy a knife. Of course you won't, because you only have one premium knife. Mhmmm. This is the point in a conversation where I would just tell you to shut your mouth because you sound like a moron. You're saying nothing of value here, and looking back at the thread, no one is even listening to you. Move. The hell. On.

Those are my thoughts, and as I've said before, I don't speak for anyone but myself. I asked you to drop it, and shut up about it. You mentioning Dave giving people free knives is not your business to do. It's as simple as that. However, just as I said, you continue to expound on it with nonsense in order to obfuscate the clear fact that you should have just shut up. Maybe you're also good friends with Dave, I don't know. If that's the case, and he openly expresses to you his desire to give away knives, then I apologize. However I seriously doubt that's the case.

I get that you're a man with brave and strong opinions, and you may well be right. Lets assume you are. "Forgiveness" is pure sentiment and something you can't fake without feeling resentment and anger. Gratitude is different. I can extend my gratitude to you for your position even though you probably know I'm not all that grateful. I have faith that I should be grateful even if I'm not, so faking it until I make it is an acceptable position.

This is more of the nonsense I was alluding to earlier. It reminds me of George Carlin trimming down the 10 Commandments. He reads the first three and says "The first three, complete bullsh!t." I feel that idea applies to what you've written here. Despite it being a relatively short paragraph compared to the other trite you've written (you know, the stuff that reads like you just completed a semester of industrial design, even though nobody cares about the names that no one recognizes), it just drags on with ideas that mean nothing to what you're trying to say. In fact, I'm not really sure what you're saying. I think it's that you don't forgive me, but want to be grateful so you'll pretend to forgive me even though you're angry and resentful. To that, I respond with: Um....ok. Congratulations. I don't really care about forgiveness or gratitude, so you just work that out yourself and do whatever makes you happy.

I could say the same to you about your moralizing, which was sort of what I was doing (admittedly without much justification). I'm never sure how much of my own moralizing isn't self-justification, but I certainly find nothing wrong with your advice. Let's do that, OK?

In the same spirit of my above response: Um...ok. Congratulations.

And thank you for weighing in. I know you feel the obligation to be the adult in the room, which is a sense that will serve you well as a teacher.

I feel no obligation to be anyone but myself. There are many other adults in the room here, I just happen to be a very wordy one with likely very different leanings than most. That being said, thanks for the sentiment on my career choice, but I don't need your backhanded well-wishes.

I'm not insulting him, at least not intentionally. Some people do find me insulting but almost never when I intend to be. It's a mystery. As for Stick, I think we just got off on the wrong foot. It's probably my fault. I pulled a couple of all-nighters and got really cranky.

I don't need you to like me. From our recent interactions, and from what I've read of your post history, I don't really like you. Again, I speak only for myself and what other people feel is none of my business. Call it getting off on the wrong foot, but I've got better places to put my feet. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and at your current pace they're taking you straight there. I think a primary difference between you and I is that while we both enjoy typing and speaking in entertaining phrase, I don't hide behind it. I don't feel a need to flaunt my years of literary study to try to impress people, and I'm not above telling someone I don't like that I don't like them. I appreciate the truth, even when it's not a pleasant one.

I'm not going to give you any further hard time here, and I'll do my best to avoid clashing with you. So, enjoy posting as you have. I'm sure it'll impress and entertain everyone, or at the very least yourself. That's what it's all about right? It's not like any of these usernames or avatars are actual people.

It's kinda fun watching sticky and freewheeling go at it...even though I don't have the slightest clue of what they're saying for the most part. It's like watching two master chess players engaged in a fierce game...only here they insult each other using big words with each move :D

You should've been around when I was talking to CiCi's cousins about psychics and mediums. Good times.

Ok, I think I made my decision..........and it's neither of them.

Mario, do you have experience with the Nitecore Infilux Series IFE1??
It combines both of the things I love from the other two.

I have to say, I've never tried that light. Only saw it mentioned briefly on CPF. However, the specs don't particularly thrill me. The variable output is good, but the max of 260 lumens is a bit underwhelming for a CR123a light. The emitter is an XP-G, which is good, but accounts for the slightly lower output. However an XP-G will give you a tighter hot spot which may translate to slightly more throw than you may get with something like an XM-L. You said you prefer floody lights, so I don't think the XP-G is the emitter for you. It's the reason why I don't dig most of Fourseven's lights anymore aside from the Mini ML-X. I also like a floody beam, and I really don't think you're going to get it from that light... :(

I don't think we're talking about the same light.

I think you're talking about the Infilux IFD2

Oh wow, you're right. I thought you meant this one: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?288377-NiteCore-Infilux-IFE1-review

Oops! That version looks pretty awesome. Pretty much the RRT-01 with a clicky switch, that's cool. I say go for it. NiteCore is a good company, it's unlikely that you'll have much trouble with it.

They need to make flashlight names easier. Like "The Blinder" or the "Mcnosight Flasher" or the "Iris Terminator" :D. I jest. It is late and I am hungry.

Yea, now I don't have to chose between the RRT-01, or the V11R.......or buy both :D

Hopefully I'll be able to pick one up in the next couple weeks.
I'll let you know how awesome it is. Surprises me, there's like almost no reviews on it.

I'm not sure if they do...maybe. There's some sort of company wish wash going on with them Jetbeam, NiteCore, and their parent company SysMax. *shrug* Weird splits and merges and all that.

That Ti/CF light is awwwwwwwwesome. They had one at Blade Show at one of the small light retailer tables. It was expensive, but it was gorgeous. I'd like one...
