I agree. I have a special number that pops up over and over in my life. But I can’t request that number it has to happen on its own.Half the fun with the serial numbers is getting whatever random number you get and trying to find some connection/meaning.

Have we ever met?Because some people have no conception of their own self worth beyond what possessions they can accumulate.
When they acquire something "special" or "exclusive" they then feel, albeit fleetingly, a little more special themselves. Once the dopamine hit wears off, they're quickly back to feeling like their usual old and "worthless" selves, which leads to another hunt for something "rare" and "precious." And on and on it goes - with most folks never pausing to address where the negative thoughts about themselves originate in the first place - as that quest is viewed as potentially frightening or uncomfortable.
If they could replace the accumulation cycle with a creative cycle, and develop some personally rewarding skills, ie whittling, bushcraft, knife making, leather working, etc; then they may be able to cultivate a firmer foundation on which to build a new concept of their self worth.
Until then, the cycle of chasing ever diminishing dopamine hits will continue until such a point is reached that they no longer are able to derive the desired feelings from their current endeavor and are forced to find a new arena to participate in.
They have probably convinced themselves that they're not doing it for the reasons stated, and are actually doing it for financial gain, which is nothing more than the same accumulation cycle with a more abstract object. This explains why happy people are not always wealthy, and why wealthy people are not always happy.
I don't put them on mute, as for me, they serve as a beneficial reminder of where not to tread and where my focus and priorities should rest.
I mean, I'm not speaking academically here -- if I were, I'd cite my sources.Have we ever met?you are describing me with about 90% accuracy.....Cheers.
GrossIt’s easy to grind the serial numbers off and make look original so you can sell them on eBay.
Hell yes.Shoot me a link to the flipper groups, I'll ruin some fun
