Osprey Knife and Tool Shop Talk and Information Swap

Just wanted to take a minute and say how impressed I am with Chris' work. One of the benefits of sheath making is having a lot of knives pass through your shop and seeing different levels of work. Chris stacks right up there from the ones I've seen. Good feel in the hand, good profiles and top notch fit and finish. Andy's a great teacher and Chris has learned well. Here's a shot of the latest passing through here for leather.

Thank you for your post and for sharing your view of my work, its always exciting and a pleasure for me to here people feedback and to see pictures, Rick you are a person who sees alot of knives and who has been around the industry longer than me and its a honor for me to receive such an acknowledgement

Just a couple of pictures. I had to replace a cracked and leaky pvc pipe under my hot tub. the EDU came in handy.

The EDU lives in my work pants pocket. So out it came to cut the new pipe. This stuff is hard.

Love this Thread! Seeing the EDU being used for what I designed it to be used for. I use an EDU I keep at home quite a bit, more than any knife out side the kitchen the Kiridashi comes in a close second.

Want to pop in here and share a little bit of whats going on with me and what I have been up too. I have been toying around with some sketches for the past couple of months for some new blade designs. One of which I already showed here on My Osprey Fighter Prototype Thread. There are two more I have to show here the Top one is the Fighter I introduced a couple of weeks ago. The other two are new and have not been shown outside the shop yet, I put the initial grinds on them today and will taper the tangs tomorrow.

I picked up this Kiln This last weekend it is En-route. the dimensions are 18" W X 22" D in other words there isn't much I cant cook it this thing. I am pretty excited. I intend to really dive in and perfect my Hamon with this oven and experiment with some different steels

Awesome update Chris. Looking forward to seeing the new models materialize

I like your new designs, but, call me old fashioned I still like my Apache EDC better than any other knife I've owned. It is a constant carry.

Thank you! The Apache EDC is still one of my favorites too. I will continue to make the Apache EDC and similar style knives, but also trying new things. I see all the work your Apache EDC gets through your Instagram page looks like you put it through hell

I would like to introduce my newest blade to my lineup

Recon 3/16" O1 Tool Steel,
Flat Grind, Tapered Tang
Black Canvas Micarta over Natural with Stainless Pins.
6 3/4" Blade 11 3/4 OAL
9.92 ounces or 0.62 lbs

Blade has a slight re-curve to it measuring 1.525" at the narrowest part of the blade height and 1.565 at the Tallest part.

Balance Point is slightly Forward of the Guard.

This Knife has Plenty of curves, wide hips, and Butt:D Plenty for you to hold onto when....
Seriously Though The Ergonomics on the handle lock your hand in without cramping it.
Plenty of room to choke up for leverage and room enough to choke back and really chop.

I Usually keep the first knife (prototype) of a given model I make, but this one turned out exceptionally well so I will be listing it for sale today on the Friday Sales Thread.
