Soft spot in my heart for that ol Marlin, Tx. Taken many a whitetail with that old reliable 30-30.

A few of my prides and joys...

Sun is finally out after a week of clouds, snow, and rain. Any excuse is fine to burn some powder and play with knives.

My first synthetic stock rifle. Ruger Mini-14 in AAC 300 Blackout. I have the optics picked out, but want to run some rounds through it first. Had to be paired with a dagger grind Sneaky Pete.

Love that X-Ring Phillip, and can't wait for a report on that 300 Blackout.

The sun is out, and I think I'm going to have to get the toys warmed up. There may be more photos!

X Ring should be a good project Phillip.

Tony, I'm going to try and get out first of this week and put 100 or so rds. of super and sub sonic through the Ruger.

Got to post a shot of some older assault tools. The .54cal Hawken and spike hawk were made by me and, of course, a Fiddleback for company.

Rick,
I have an old .50 Hawken. Love the smoke and fire from that beauty.

You convinced me to get out the ol' 1861 Navy...just because I'm trying to at least keep up!

The debate seems to be what Fiddleback do I partner it with!

Tony

P.S. Particularly curious how the sub-sonics cycle through the Ruger. Wondering if they'll present a problem if/when you put a can on it.

1861 Navy-now you're hurting my feelings. Dang, have wanted one of those for years. Pictures for sure.
The subsonic loads are the rounds to use with a can. Super sonic creates gas pressure problems when used with a suppressor. My thinking is to get a .30cal suppressor and use it on the Ruger and on the assorted bolt actions. Will be some time late summer or early fall before all the paper work is complete.

Very nice Rick! I have always wanted a Hawken.

I wondered if the subsonics would cycle the bolt. I have a .308 (pics coming today) that I've wanted to put a can on (no budget though - I keep buying knives from theses guys named Andy and Phillip, and sheaths from this guy named Rick!), and I've read that the lighter loads won't cycle the bolt with a can.

Love me some old time weapons! I've fired that 1861 in the dark, and its amazing to see how the flame from the barrel - and around the cylinder - completely engulf your hand for a moment. It becomes quite clear why they'd seal up each cylinder chamber with patch and grease to prevent multi ignition!

I just finished up a new 9mm subgun. This has been a hoot to play with at the range when suppressed. I slapped an old beater Eotech on it for the time being. I think I will go much smaller with the final sight - something like a trijicon RMR or a Dr. Optic. Paired with my latest Patch in Philellow, black bolster w/ a white pinstripe, 1/8 A2 SFT.
