My old 62a purchased new in 1935 by my grandfather w/ my recent addition Bushboot

So fantastic! Mind if I repost elsewhere? I'm not going to take a better pic than that right there! John at Badger Claw loves the gun pics too, so he'd love to see it I'm sure.

Douglas,

Thanks for that offer on the Fuente! I spent the evening yesterday with an ol buddy of mine - a Navy vet who at time struggles with a few demons of his own - and I smoked my last Padron while he smoked his last Fuente. We grilled up some meat, crushed an entire apple pie, shot off our pistols and his double barrel 12 gauge, and then sat by the fire with Jimmy Webb, Glen Campbell, and friends serenading us while he finished off his bottle of bourbon and we burned up our cigars. Made all the more perfect when his former commanding officer called...after almost 30 years...to check in. Pretty intense evening, to say the least.

But I'm heading over to my favorite shop on Monday to resupply. So you hold on to that Fuente, and meet up with SouthernGent, Bill510c, Mistwalker, and myself this next Trackrock and we'll share a few smokes, stories and lots of lies together around the fire bud.

Now that rifle of your grandfathers...well that's another matter! More pics of that please!

Tony

Edit: Can't forget BMurray and rest...but it's the above group that will be passing around the Fuentes etc.

Tony that's as fine a story as I've heard. As I've come to understand Trackrock might be the holyland. I'll do my best to get there. And I'm sincere about that!

In my never ending call and response battle of postings with Phillip (I'll admit I've lost all hope in the Fiddlebacks and Food thread), I submit for your consideration...

Ivy gets all the attention, so I've pulled out some pics of my lil boy. Sure, he's all grown up now, but what rule says the pics have to be recent? And I kept to the basic protocols by posting a pic of a Fiddleback and a Firearm.

Levi. AKA Captain Levi. AKA Leviathian. AKA Leviticus. AKA Spawn of Satan. AKA...what the hell did you do with that Blackwood Handyman I bought from Abe?

And...some fine leather work from Rick at RLO Custom Leather, along with my old school Arete.

He's too cute....

you definitely win the firearm photo battle.
Unfortunately, when I first started working at Fiddleback I sold off or traded most of my firearms.

He's evil incarnate. He's the devil. Among other things, he stole a RLO sheath and blackwood handyman...carried it off to the woods somewhere. And this is only one of his transgressions.

And I love him more than my own children. So there.

You can come shoot my firearms anytime, my friend.

I feel your pain. I've done that twice in my life. Never More...the good news is you may have some time to add to your collection.

Thank you sir. I do love my firearms and Fiddlebacks.

I have also suffered the pain of selling off my firearms (and my ATV, my chainsaw, my '84 Harley Softail...and even my '63 Chevy Stepside) in order to get through another month here or there. I realized at some point that I could never replace some of these things. I'm blessed to finally be in a better place.

But I'm with Phillip. I've gotta control this Fiddleback/Surls obsession if I hope to eat this next month. Oh...but tomorrow is Wednesday!

The dog is sorta cute too. If he doesn't bring that Handyman back he could be on the menu...

im in a better place now too, but in the beginning it was rough.

i was saving this for the BTS thread but....................

its Ivy & a Fiddleback anvil she is tied to....haha...we finally got the gas turned on here today so we can have some heat in the Office

Cubby wrapped her up in his sweatshirt this morning to keeo her warm while we were in the shop

Phillip...that one is worth reposting in the BTS thread.

Varga, I feel your pain. Especially for the shovel and pan - I'm damn partial to the ol shovels. My first was a Triumph, but moved on to a shovel Sporty, then the 84 Evo. It was the last of the chain drive, kick start 4 speeds. Loved that bike. Rode it solo from Virginia to Sturgis to Montana...then down to the Grand Canyon, and back to Virginia. Never should have let it go.

I'd love to pick up an old shovel, or a rigid pan...but it'll never happen if I keep hanging out on here. No Phillip...you don't help!

Hahaha. Hi Ivy!

This pic covers at least 5 categories but I'm going with Fiddlebacks & Firearms since I just got to mount and test the upgraded IR light this evening. Before today, I was questioning this scope and my purchase but I'm now very pleased and impressed with its capabilities and how far out I can see in total pitch black.

Jerry you've just about got everything covered there, in fine style I might add. Only thing missing for me would be a fine cigar for after that hog hunt!
