OT: Fiddlebacks & Firearms

everything about that pic is great heat_treat!!

What caliber is the #1?

Thanks!

25-06. A special run by Lipseys with a 24" barrel and no iron sights, a 1AH.

Took me awhile to find it and I love it! But you can probably guess that. ;)

Very cool indeed.

I had one re-chambered to 257 Weatherby Mag. many years ago when I was going out to Wyoming on trips.

Yup...what Phillip said x2

Thanks. I know of someone else who is fond of blued steel and nice wood. :D

That will certainly do the job. Kissing cousin to the 25-06. The hot headed one...

I have never played with any of the Weatherby calibers but have been fascinated with them since I was a kid. Lately I find myself tending towards the "efficient" calibers with 7mm-08 and 7x57 current favorites. I also have a No. 1 in .375 H&H but have not taken the time to work up any low powered, more deer appropriate loads. Too much to do and too little time (yes, first world problem for sure).

7mm-08 is my favorite caliber for hunting. Put it in a Remington model 7 and you have the best deer stand gun and walkabout too(atleast where I used to hunt)

Thank you!
Just got the knife today and I'm seriously happy with it! So good feeling in the hand, them handles really let you grip it.
Broke down and oiled everything.

My newest Osage with my 1871. The sheath is from Rick Lowe, and is meant for a Bison, but is serving double duty at the moment.

Can you say blue? And this particular osage has some of the best chatoyancy I've seen in this wood. It ripples in the light.
