OT - Just Bought my First Flashlight - Hmmmm

I really like the Surefire titan 15 or 125 lumens on your keychain. They should be releasing the 350 lumen light soon.

I have more lights than I can remember, mostly SureFire and Nitecore. I had a McGizmo Haiku that I loved but I needed cash fast so it had to be sacrificed; in my opinion Don ( McGizmo ) makes the best lights because his reflectors are superb and the beams flawless- you should definitely check them out.
On the less expensive end I've really liked the Sunwayman lights that I've bought, the Maratac's have been ok.

If you want a light that puts out about 4K lumens check out the Nitecore TM26, I have the 3,800 lumen model and it's amazingly bright.

So now that you know that so many of us are flashaholic's I should ask if you also collect watches and firearms 😀

I went from a knife and camping gear user/collector to a full on gear junkie by the time I was 16. It's amazing how much stuff you accumulate once you start getting a regular paycheck.

I have a Surefire and a couple Streamlights on guns, and just got a 1xAAA copper Maratac and a 2xAA Maratac. I already had a 5.11 2xAA. Not really a collector, I just needed a few flashlights that are decent.

I would like one that takes the 18650's though, I have eight of those and don't use them all.

I got a 4seven preon 2 the new model it runs on 2 AAA's and it's been nothing but great strob,sos,3 brightness levels and a bunch more options. I also got a fenix E21 runs on 1 AA and 3 brightness levels it may do more I don't know...lol. It's a nice light too. I live in a city and can see pretty well at night so I don't need something that can really throw a beam but the 2 I got have done fine on camping trips and were much brighter than I expected.

I have 2 HDS lights, one clicky and one rotary. The rotary with the Nichia 219b may be the greatest flashlight ever. Before it I carried a Malkoff MDC for quite a while. It's terrific. I have several Malkoffs, Elzettas and Surefires with Malkoff dropins. They're all terrific lights and as fun to collect and use as knives. :)

I just saw that they're starting to squeeze 300+ lumens out of a single Eneloop, it almost seems like magic when you compare runtimes with existing XM-L2 double cell AA flashlights. Thank goodness the compact AA flashlight category is starting to catch up.

Last weekend I put in an order for a few 4Sevens Atoms (AA), I love the floody beam, and magnets. It's an older LED but at low lumens the large diodes don't necessarily improve anything.

I've been bitten by the flashlight bug as well. I carry a stream light stylus pro at work everyday, which is a great light for the money and is very compact. I have a surefire p2x1 I carry in the car, surefire x300 on my m&p, and surefire scout on my Larue ar15. Lastly, I got a Fenix TK22, that I keep in my nightstand. Fenix is the best all around for features and value, but the surefire's are bombproof. I use my lights everyday, very handy.

Just have my one edc, surefire outdoorsman 2xaa, but I do have spares of them at home. There are a few other randoms at home that I use too infrequently to remember.

Hoooooo boy. Flashaholic, yes. :D "LEDmodMan" from CPF checking in. ;) CPF sure has changed over the years though.

I EDC a Olight S10 Baton with RCR123, and a 1xAAA (Eneloop) SS Maratac keychain light. Some of my other current favorites are the Nitcore EA4 Pioneer (4xAA Eneloops) and my Nitecore HC50 headlamp (1x18650) that sees tons of use night fishing.

McGizmo's stuff is second to none, and you won't meet a better guy! It amazes me how far LED lighting has come in the past 11-12 years. Back then, there were only a handful of us with these uber-powerful LED torches (I still have a couple of my "X-bin" Luxeon 5W lights), most of the really good ones were modded (thus my CPF handle), and now you can get a decent LED flashlight at just about any store. The price drop amazes me too! Many XM-L2 lights can be had for under $100.

Why does it not surprise me that The Bully is an HDS freak? :p

So now I was out looking again - BAD!!!

Found a cool Nitecore MT10C - Small light, but powerful. I think this is the next one :)

I love flashlights. Mostly a surefire guy but have a few fenix as well.

I am almost as addicted to flashlights as I am knives and guns. Wish I could find a nice cheap hobby to get into.
