Hickok45 is great video entertainment
It has been some time since I checked him out. Will do next. If I recall, he is a retired history high school teacher. Respect. Yeah man, was just remebereing some oil filter vids :). So much cool too little time :). Gotta do it.

This is really something (Yes off topic but well...I will forget).

MegaRatWeiler for me if one, but that Anni MS is a wonder.

Aside: SpyderCo Shaman is good.

Thanks again for the great pix.

Whoa..GOTTA PUMP THE BRAKES HERE...I spent my life building my Armory I'm not about to abandon base that quick. My neighbors have all said if the SHTF they will come knockin' at the door;)...Now if I gotta come rescue yer ass that's a completely different set of tools...HK VP9/MP5 and Basic 9.

Good choices. It sucks but you know the saying from Heat::)

Agree with Busto Busto in that I’d defend the home front unless collapse was all but certain, in which case I’d likely head down river.

I have G19s everywhere in bags and vehicles, but this is my “home team” pair (though I’m emptying the 870 Police first).

Well if the Heat is That close....which it is, I'm 50 miles from Lake Lucero where they did the first Atomic testing and I've seen the sand turned to 6" thick glass. Then I'm pretty sure everyone here will be Black Toast no need to "Break Glass in case of Emergency" to get my 1911's. Besides I'm to Old to Start running...Hell I won't even run to the Bathroom(that's a PSA:D)...BTW if the Heat is around the corner they better be Bringing THE Heat:eek:

I don't normally make recommendations but the old smith steel semi auto guns are notoriously unreliable. Get something else. The new m%p series are excellent. But the old 4 digit guns are horrible

Interesting. That is literally the exact opposite of my experience with it and everything I read about them leading up to and following the purchase years ago. Will take it under advisement though.

If it makes you feel better in the interim I'll change my answer to my P220 and lots of extra mags. :D

Here's a good deal on a G22.4 LEO Trade in for $290. When all the 9mm ammo was gone when this whole thing went down, .40 was still available down here in SoFlo.

I have handguns in .22 (for the little guy), .32 (it's so small and light that I never have an excuse to not be carrying), .40, and a handful of 9mms (EDC, range toys, and backups). My G19.4 is the one I would grab if I couldn't grab anything else although my P365 is always with me. My G17.5 MOS would be hard to leave behind though. Is that cheating?

Thanks. I see them on AIM often as well at good prices. Just never seem to uhhh, pull the trigger, but I should get one soon.

Always had an affinity for the steel bricks for the most part. They feel good in hand... like a Busse!

Is it crazy to consider an FN FiveseveN? Big capacity, light weight, negligible recoil, and no worries about hollow points getting clogged with denim. Not going to scavenge much ammo, but would probably find a 9mm or .40 before I ran out.

And if the FiveseveN is crazy, a Sig Sauer P226 because that's what I shoot most and it always works.

And a SHBM. Because it's a SHBM, and nothing else is a SHBM.

Glad I read through before responding. Five-Seven is my handgun answer.

There was good ones, but I had a 4506, 5906 and 1076. I sent the 4506 and 5906 back to smith to fix. Both jammed a lot. The 4506 jamed at least once per mag. They could never fix it and I sold it to a gunsmith. The 5906 did improve but as finicky with ammo types. The 1076 ran fine with no issues. So if yours runs fine, you are likely ok and they are beautiful guns.

I love my 1911s.

But I’d grab my Glock G22 (.40). Carried it for 9 years on duty. I’ve put thousands of rounds through it without the first malfunction. Rain mud dropped and practically abused it’s still a top athlete.

We just switched to the Gen 5 G17 (9mm) so we were able to buy our old pistols from the PD. And I’ve accumulated probably 40-50 magazines for the G22 and plenty of ammo for it also.

While there are certainly more accurate pistols that feel so much better in the hand. The Glock is the AK of the pistol world.

goes bang every time!

Edit to add: I bought a couple extras from other cops who didn’t want theirs. So I threw a 35 Long Slide on one (main off duty carry). One in the night stand another in the safe. A pair of lowers ....just in case.
Loaded mags stay in all Go bags and 2 mags stay in each vehicle. I’m too invested in the 40 platform, so switching to a different Glock would be too expensive as “prepared” as I like to be with my firearms. Standardized your weaponry....one of the things I appreciated from military days and the PD. I know what you shoot so in the need to transition to a different weapon, I’m already proficient with it.

I “mainly” shoot only 7.62x51 and 39. Most of my rifles are FAL’s so I have enough spare parts for my pistols and rifles should the need arise.

G17's & 19's are my go too. The NFNO has always been seen by me as the perfect on the belt knife for the unexpected...…..but the MRW may be pushing it aside with it's brutish thickness and blade geometry.

In a true SHTF Glock is honestly the way to go. It’s the Honda Civic of the Gun world, bland but reliable. It is also so popular that it is much easier to find replacement parts for it vs most other guns.

Same why an AR and the 9mm round makes the most sense. I ditched every non 9mm caliber I had other than an old colt commander that was a gift but I never shoot.

I carry a New Staccato P since STI has really improved things with their new gen guns and mags, but I still have an HK and Glock in the stable too.

But hey, to each their own

I might even still have a new old stock mag for the 59. I remember seeing it one day in the basement. But have no gun for it, lol

Take down .22's are handy and fun.

After enough time with air rifles and my pestering to shoot his Stevens bolt action .22 he presented me with a Rossi Model 62 clone.

It was awesome.
We were at a gun show in VA, I was in 6th grade perhaps? Anyway, we go to a table. He checks it out, price tag says $100.00, he says I'll take it.
Nothing new to me as I had become familiar with this ordeal. What I didn't expect is when he turned to me and said, "This is yours." Man, it was one of those moments :).

Anyway, all these years later that Rossi still shoots...well shot straight as an arrow (Been years since I shot). Wow is it fun (Pump) and it did get a lot of use up through college. Never needed a gunsmith (Never replaced anything). Will admit I do recall some extractor failures.
Another beautiful aspect of the 62's design is to take it down requires turning one screw. Does not get any simpler.
I think I would want my Winchester 61 If I had to have just one.

My sidearm would be a Gen 4 G19 with a Suarez slide on top and RMR06. I would be tempted to put the slide on a G45 lower, but if it is an INCH scenario, I'd rather take the trigger set-up that has been used the last 35 years or so instead of the new Gen 5 trigger set-up. Plus, I can still run 17 round mags in it.

Knife would be a Hell Razor 2. Two other options that I would consider that I believe at this point would be contenders would be the BGTG-P and the Forsaken Team Gemini. I might even take a BGHR. Whichever came to hand first would probably make the decision.

Rifle would be BCM Hammer, 16" light-weight barrel, standard front sight tower with a Burris 3x prism scope mounted on top. I have used it to ring steel consistently at 400 yards, so I'm confident it its capability, and my ability with it.

G19 would be for self-defense and small game.

AR would be for self-defense and medium game.

G34 for me and my Banned Skinny Ash. Everything you need, nothing you don't.:)
