Our "Front Porch" ....

Too bad this porch is up front and open to all, we need a back porch for me to really open up.;)

I have a ZT 0560 and plan on gifting that to my 11yo on this birthday this Saturday, which will allow me to justify an XM-24. I am a little paranoid, but he's wise beyond his years. He covets my AUG, but mom put a stop to that. Maybe when he turns 18.

Happy Birthday. I was up at NorthStar last weekend as well. Due to the snow fall, the skiing was great on Friday and even better the next day once they cleaned up the mountain that night. The black diamonds were a little too easy and should have been marked blue though.
 
Hmmmm.... I took the "Hitting 50 today" as a reference to the weather (ambient air temp)....

Oh no, 50-degrees, but thanks for the well wishes. I turned 40 last July.
 
The story behind the house.... good and bad. I had been out of school and kicking around; consulting for large corps in their Treasury departments when I got a call from a Navy bud who's brother ran a hedge fund. I had traded for my own account when in the Navy but only long term positions as I didn't have access to a laptop for long stretches. Anyway, I traded for the fund for the first time in 2005 and I hit it out of the park that year. We were living in a 1200ft cabin on the Cali side (C Bay) at the time. I took my bonus and bought the house, not knowing what else to do with it, and needing bigger digs for the five of us. Imagine a family of five in a 1200 sq ft house.

Fast-forward seven years and the house is worth 40% of what I paid, but all I have is prop-taxes. I opened an account at work in 2007 to short MBS so I made out there on the hedge, but not nearly enough to cover the loss on the property. We love it here and I get to travel to my hometown a lot (Chi).
 
Haha, I probably saw you on the blacks. I think i am done for the season. I have a bunch of titanium in my right foot and it's giving me a lot of grief now. Not helping that I just hit 225lbs. Wife is like a commando version of Jillian Michaels and is forcing me to do heavy ATG squats, bench and rack-cleans in the morning.

If you did, I was the only guy with a camo military Gore Tex jacket and overall OD green theme. I hope that foot gets better through that active recovery your wife is putting you through.

So that explains that human-shaped, rough patch I snow boarded over on my way down hill. :)

Hey Rudi great stuff on this Front Porch meeting some more interesting members, like N2K said the back porch version would indeed bring the chatter to another level. If you opened the "Back Porch" up we would need some encryption and confidentiality agreements.

Strange how the military and LEO have really merged since 9-11-11. One example other than training, recruitment, weapons and intel is that Special ops captured Suddam Hussein and a group that I was running with provided
Dig Pro on the judge that sentanced him to hang onced he moved stateside with his family. Obviously this little tidbit is unclassified because our local paper got wind of the new celebrity and posted his picture and a complete write up. WTF
By the way D66 two vanillas on my team, you guys are certainly a breed apart!
 
This threads great as of late. No doubt sent a few folks to search WTF is being mentioned. But every word is public knowledge. Nothing to see here...move along...:)
