Our "Front Porch" ....

sorry i already posted this pic in this thread - but today i gave my old trusty XA50ES (cd player bottom pic) to my Mother - upon setting it up in in her living room i told her: even with your current system (old pioneer amp / b&w CM series compact speakers / kimber cables) you WILL hear the difference compared to the pioneer multi player you had...

she did not believe me - but as soon as she listened to the first cd she had a big grin on her face :)

that was really nice

Rubi, always enjoy reading you adventure stories!

Ross, I wish you would have scored that Armored Dagger, so we could drool over your photos of it. Just think positive, someday you'll get your unicorn.

Andreas, nice setup! My Klipsch setup keeps me satisfied, but I have experienced an audiophile setup, so unfortunately I know what a high end system sounds like, and I want one! I have thought about building a sub, my powered 12" just isn't cutting it. ;)

Oh, and me? Aside from the occasional car show, I recently resurrected my old Cannondale road bike that was gathering dust, turned it into a nice bike path/urban bike.

BT- I'm sorry, but I have to type what first came to my mind, and surprised no one else had said anything. But that blue bike just isn't working, would you like me to send a rattle can of flat black??? LOL, sorry Jim I couldn't help myself.:D

LOL, well, I did add some black to it, and I was doing this "on the cheap". The pedals, brake cables (notice the white cable on the rear, didn't change that), brake levers (though I did opt for a silver/black combo), tires (were gum wall), and handlebar were all not black. I just couldn't cover up that nice metallic blue. Today's weather was perfect, so I took it out for its first ride, and it rode great, especially for not being ridden for years!

Here is my next project bike, my first real mountain bike. Basically, I am just going to strip the paint and polish or scotchbrite the bare alum, then clear coat it.

^thanks - but following my girlfriend up two summits was the real breathtaking action today :D the way which lead to the second summit featured some spots with vertical 600ft drops - i was really scared

oddly enough i dont have any trouble when i am on my snowboard - the top pic is actually a drop-in zone for us in winter - either from the spot the pic has been taken - or from the spine further down - into the shadow-section :D

What a breathtaking views! Sounds like you had lotsa fun. Great pics!

In exchange and since you mention snowboarding here are couple of mine from Whistler

Wow! That's amazing Rubi! You must be a proud pop. That pic need to be blown up into a poster and put in the man cave.

Four(4) great Young people (can't say kids anymore) Good people, Student-Athletes, Responsible community members lots of volunteer activities many I never was told about, heard from other Parents or Clergy (PallBearing at Funerals of people with no friends or family)
Yes, very proud of them.
Pat is the subject of many local professional photographers that show up at his games.
Fun.:)

Great action pic of your boy, Rubi!

alwayscarryaknife, that isn't yours, is it? Because YES, that would be perfect! I do like my first gen Girvin fork, which became Noleen/K2, but that carbon fiber would look great next to brushed aluminum.

That front fork is a piece of functional art, I had to look away. Biking was "one of those hobbies" a few years ago.

Still have a couple of my bikes...... (tremble....shiver)

Yeah Rubi, road and mountain biking use to be about all I did in my free time...until kids. But I wouldn't trade my kids and the time I get to spend with them for the world. My bikes are still with me and one day I'll pull them out and overhaul them and the kids out there now can look at my "vintage" build. I will certainly be shocked at the new technology when that day comes.
