Out of Africa...K'roo.

I just got word my Lambsfoot is done. What do you guys think? It’s African Blackwood, purple liners and Magnacut steel. I was hoping for a more solid black color but it has some nice color. I’m very happy. These are Willem’s photos before it ships.
I'd be pretty disappointed, I tell you what send it over to me and I'll get that eye sore away from you 😉

I kid my friend, that is a simply stunning piece. In fact, despite that I love ebony and blackwood as black as can be, that is if I may say, even more attractive. Anyone would be proud to call it their own 👍

That is a classic design.👌 Willem's photos can be deceiving on some knives. The more you handle it the darker it becomes.
The etched spine truly individualized it.
Now the wait.

The brown streaks give it character, just a beautiful knife! I just got my first MagnaCut blade, but haven't used it yet.
On paper it may be the "perfect" knife steel. Congrats!

Thanks guys, I can’t wait. Willem does some stunning work. I’m already thinking of what will be next.

That is a beautiful lamb Wharn. I think the brute de forge look on the blade is great. What a great knife. And magnacut! Congratulations on a fine K’roo. And that’s great you didn’t get the boob shield. 🥴

I got this Lanny’s Clip this morning. It was built solely by his son Liam. It’s 3 3/4’s with a 2 3/4’s blade of RWL 34, hollow ground, with some interesting Westinghouse micarta. Luckily I bought it off the web site so it has a federal shield. I would get another knife built by Liam without hesitation. It’s a gloomy rainy day here so the pictures don’t do justice to the micarta.

Wow, just beautiful Kurt.👍🏻
I'm glad to see the passion and skill is being passed on.

I saw photos of that earlier. I love that micarta. Congrats.

Very nice barlow!! From my experiences, pictures do not do his knives justice.👍🏻
So true! It's definitely hard to capture all the character in the wood, truly fantastic. I'll have to wait for a real nice sunny day to get out and take some better pictures.

unclekurty unclekurty I saw other pix of your LC in another thread-where talking has to be kept to a minimum-so I'll ask here. Do you know if he has any more Westinghouse Micarta? Your other pix really showed off its bias cutting to very great effect, I'm very interested in it as a material.

Thanks, Will

Hi Will,
In the USA ETSY has some Westinghouse micarta close to the color you are looking at on Kurt's knife.
If you find something, I can purchase it and send to you or Willem.
Cheers,
Bob
May have broken rule here...thought it was a PM....sorry.

Will I didn’t ask. I wish I had a better answer. I think I see a K’roo with Westinghouse Micarta in your future hopefully. Liam did a great job on that knife.

Rufus1949 Rufus1949 No foul there as far as I or any other non-pedant would be concerned Bob ;) Appreciate the info.

I'm thinking about partial file-work not the whole spring being worked. Many enticing options to mull over
Will,
That is an ever present problem for me, too many choices🤔
