I'm assuming you are young. When you get older, you will find that a fine, well made knife is worth a lot. Just like a well made, high performance car (Porsche, BMW) is worth more than a Taurus. We all started out saying we wouldn't spend over X on knife. Then we played with a truly exquisite knife and understood that our limits are arbitrary. But you can definitely buy decent, highly functional knives for $125 or less. But they aren't pieces of functional art. Those cost a bit more.

Anything over $125 because thats my limit on knives :)

Phantom Steelworks PF-1. The flame work on these is ridiculous

Blue handled sprint run pm2, out of reach just because I can't justify the price tag.

Im not a collector nor can I bring myself to spend over that self imposed limit..I know there are some beauties out there. I just am not willing to spend $$ on them. I just like a good reliable user..Thats why I said pretty much anything over $125 to me cause I cant see myself ever spending more than that. Im in my mid 40's.

That said I have the same deal with guns..I KNOW there are a lot of beautiful ones out there but Ive never spent more on a gun than I spent on the M1 Garand at $650 and I wont even spend more than that either.

I just pretty practical. I dont have anything in things like Knives or guns that I dont use(I dont collect all my knives and guns are "workers" and subject to some use and possibly abuse in the field. THats why I limit myself $$ wise...I figure I only willingly spend what im willing to lose if something gets broke,scratched,wrecked....I just remember the time Pheasant hunting when I was in my mid 20's a guy hunting with us a well known Doctor from our area had this beautiful over under...long story short is he got it dinged up crossing a fence line...unloaded it and was handing it over the fence when he unexplainably dropped it guess he thought the other guy had a good handle on it..fell on barbed wire fence...guy was almost crying at the damage to both stock and metal..I didnt know what all the fuss was I had my trusty old $250 side by side with tons of well worn "character" marks..later..years later id found out that that gun was like a $5000+ over under that got trashed...I was like  id never have owned let alone let it leave the house lol. I never want that feeling so I dont own things im not willing to use and possibly get more "character" marks on them :)

Veni, vidi, vici: By the way, based on my studies on Julius Caesar, your screen name is slightly wrong. You see, when Caesar and his army defeated a particular warlord, he became enraptured by the beauty of the warlord's wife, and as was the custom of the day, he "conquered" her. So his concise report to Rome was actually "Vidi, vici, veni": I saw, I conquered, I came. :)

ok that is slightly "extremely" mind blowing, and slightly funny, but anyway, Veni Vidi Vici sounds more dramatic, plus not as weird, but ya, I think if I ever become a basic member, that will definitely be part of my sig :D

An old joke among we Latin students many years ago. Could not resist.

There are several......
Emerson viper
Jess Horn anything
Bodega carbon fiber
Titanium handle and Damascus bladed dozier folder

I have relatively modest tastes.

In recent folders I would like to have a carbon fiber M390 Spyderco Military, or a Microtech Socom Elite. I'm not going to spend the money for either one.

In years past when I collected custom hunting knives I wanted a fixed blade hunter by Neil Blackwood, and one of several models by Dusty Moulton. These days I wouldn't be able to spend the money for either one, if they were available.
