And here is as close as my little niece has gotten to being in the woods :)

Thanks, roughedges. Since you like shots of ritualized mating behavior, and dragonflies, I'm showing this shot of green darners in love, for you:

That's pretty cool...I've driven over Donner many times and looked at those, and I have been on the train through those snow sheds before. I would have thought that they would keep the tracks clear, otherwise why bother with the snow sheds?

And since someone mentioned Half Dome, here is a view of the crowds on the cables:

ah, the classic and pornographic tandem position. :D I suppose it passes for foreplay in the insect world. A remarkable shot, Evolute, but I would only be surprised if it was not, really.

Here is another dragonfly, a red saddlebags:

and some butterfly sex. I wish I had closed down the apeture a little more here but I was already at f20 at 200mm and didn't think to change the iso setting until they'd already sluggishly fluttered off. While I'm at it, I wish I had cut the grass last week too.

This is my fathers house out in the county. The Belle River winds it way along the side of his smallish 3cre lot lengthwise and then turns dramatically, boardering his lot in the back as well. Its just a creek really. The bridge was build by an old convent that used to be across the river. On my fathers left side is a church. Perhaps its a blessing to have God as your neighbor :)

Outside my basement window on Thursday- about 2 feet away from my camera. They were looking for food in the window well as there is snow covering everything else.

Ok, someone's got to divert this from insect porn. (great pics though) I don't need anymore vices:D Here's an acorn that is just going about it's business.
