Outdoors Picture of the Day

I don't have a camera, so I can't contribute any pictures of my own, but www.deviantart.com has some incredible photographers. Look under the Animals and Nature tab.

There are some incredible images here, keep up the good work.

April one year ago. Playing with the long exposure.

Here's a shot of Mono Lake. It's not a new shot, but it was taken at around this time of year:

Here's one from our over-night trip last weekend. After a chilly night, this little fella was warming up in the middle of a small forrest road, bathing in the spring morning's sun :)

Great thread!

Not to the standards of the other pics, but I thought I'd add one of mine.

Taken a month or two ago at a stream near my house.

This first is a green lynx spider, one of florida's many ambush spiders. It waits near the top of plants, makes a "web" of what I think of as trip wires and then ambushes its prey, the coarse hair on its legs forming a kind of spiny basket to hold it in.

That same praying mantid eating something. An aphid, I think. I have sharper photos of this fella but, to me, the ones where it is eating or hunting are most interesting.

I like that fishing shot above! The black and white post (pun) by Rupestris also resonates with me.

Here is one of goldrod and a wet camera lens (Windsor, ON, Canada - Aug 2007). Thought I`d use Doc`s frame method....

This from an area called Toroweap, Grand Canyon NP. You drive 60 miles on a gravel/rocky road to the area. You are 3000 ft above the Colorado, looking straight down.

This is from last June with my father and my son. Brings back good memories.

Saw these wild things while hiking in Topanga State Park this week. Would make a mean projectile weapon, they are sharp.
