P2 unresolved warranty problem uggggggh

I received mine today. The grind isn't so great on the spyder side at the heel. There was a burr on a good percentage of the blade. The thumb jimping is rough looking. Handle and pivot are perfect. The blade leaves a lot to be desired.

Singularity is another old timer I know and respect and he's saying the same thing. I guess I was just lucky in getting the knives I did. It's pretty much impossible for me to dismiss this as ultra picky buyers seeing some of the people here. Guys that are as, or more knowledgeable than I am.

Good luck to all, and continue trying for a resolution that satisfies you. Spyderco can usually be counted on to do the right thing once they know there are real problems. If Sal and company were uncaring people just out for a quick but it would have been apparent not years, but decades ago. I'm at about 20 years of Spyderco use and it's not because there are no other choices.

Things tend to work out for the best in the long run. One way or another.

Thanks Joe. I never did realize that blade wobble could be so irrelevant when using the knife. I can't get this grey para out of my pocket.

How is the finish on your blade?

A few people have commented that the 20CP seems to have a more brilliant finish than the normal s30v one. I agree with them. Here's a pic of mine that shows the finish.

The finish is nice on mine. Someone could have done a lot better sharpening this knife. Still havent stropped all the burr off.

All the factory edge on mine needed was literally just a few strokes on the med, fine and UF SM rods in the 30 degree slots and that changed it from being just average sharp to being a razor. Just took a couple of minutes. And whenever that razor edge starts to fade, it just takes a few strokes on the fine and/or UF rods to bring it back. Very pleased with this steel as well as the 30 degree inclusive angle that mine came with.

Burr gone now. This steel takes an unbelievable edge compared to S30V in the regular para2. Amazed at how sharp it is.

Mine came at just below 40 degrees. I just evened up the bevels on the edge pro and gave them a polish. I touch up on the 40 degrees on the sharpmaker. I think that the steel is a very aggressive cutter compared to S30V. Even when it's not as sharp(not hair whittling) and not as acute as the angle on my S30V para 2, it still bites more into my finger tips when I do something similar to Carter's 3 finger test..
