I don't put too much stock in magic and I don't agree with cutting corners at the expense of quality. If I'm going to buy a Damascus knife, it's for the ethstetics really. It doesn't perform any better than a mono steel blade by being Damascus.

Huhhhhh There is no corners in the production of this so they haven't skipped one, YGWYPF... ok.

But the art on that thing is simply given for free, no???

If they where able to produce the same thing in 3v and g10 etc.... how much would it cost ? Wouldn't these guys wanted their time paid ???

They take crap and make a piece of art with it.... Will someone ever give them good products to work with ?

I'm happy for the OP's apparent discovery of a knife that he has had a positive experience with and I would like to experience it myself. For ~$6O maybe I will. But my skeptical nature gives me nagging doubts based upon past experience that has been supported by other's past experience. If this thread has caused controversy, I see nothing wrong with that as long as discussion remains civil. Controversy can and does promote productive conversation. If it makes you uncomfortable, maybe just don't participate? Otherwise, I would like to hear your opinions about what has been discussed thus far.

If you're gonna throw $60 at something and want to tread unknown waters, twosun knives are pretty cool from what ive seen.

I agree that working knives don't need to be pretty, but if they are...that's an awesome combination! As long as they're not too pretty to use. ;)

Op`s knife is beautiful no less, but I cant help thinking... 12 ounces, 12 OUNCES.... that`s more heavy than my most used fixed blade, so it`s not a really EDCing option for me.

And cleaning this.... completely, surpasses, my, patience, level, capability...

My cutting corners reply was in response to your "It takes 7 hits but we do it in 5" comment.
I have no idea what you mean by "YGWYPF". As far as taking a piece of crap and making art with it...well strictly "art" should be hung on a wall, not used for practical purposes.
If someone will only "give" them "crap", then maybe they should make their own materials or pay for quality and let the price reflect that.

Didn't mean Alan Davis is robbing anyone, but Im just sick of the skyrocketing and insane prices being charged for knives and customs.

The pretty ones were always meant to be hung.

edit: YGWYPF --- You Get What You Pay For

My favorites are Fallkniven and in Canada I have to save up to 3 years of spare money to get one I like, a MB would take me 7 years to buy :D

That is why I buy Condor, Ontario and morasssssss

edit: And some other doubtful sources.

If knife makers didn't charge for time and materials they wouldn't do it. For the most part they are loosing money, but they aren't getting rich at all. There are some makers that can charge alot for there time, because the work they do and the demand for it.

Hey everyone, first post here..

I have almost the exact same knife as the OP does, and it's a decent enough knife. It's a little over the top with the file work, but it's very solid and the blade seems to be holding it's edge well. It was $27 a couple years ago, by weight alone, it was a bargain. I would love to see a more restrained "classic" lockback damascus come out of the Pakistan knife makers in the future.

They are rolling in the gears as much as we are... Makes me wonder how these Pakistan knives are still on the market today if it`s not from their "Magic" ??? lollll

If they could just "Brand it" and give some references that would help a lot

Well yeah, that would be nice. If I could find it, I moved about a year ago, and most of my tiny lockback and linerlock knife collection went into a box and not seen again.
It's obvious the same people made both mine and the OP's knife.

I can't help think that $27 is closer to the real price of this knife, and some dealer has greatly inflated it.It reminds me how in Inda they make these wind up watches called HMT. Dealers on ebay were and still are trying to charge over hundred for them. Well my friend visited the factory and he was able to buy them for only $13.50 us and he got me one.

People forget that these are made for the local market first. The avg worker there can't afford $60 for a knife and $100 for a watch.

This knife does not surprise me. There is an enormous cottage industry in metal working in Pakistan and northern India. It's not just knives but guns and decorative tableware of all sorts.
